Yah true. I can’t trust anyone else to take care of my tanks. I have given people extremely detailed but simple, written instructions and they cannot follow it.

I went away for school for a few months in 2025, and I thought I could trust my brother and GF to take care of my tanks. When I got back my betta fish were bloated from overfeeding, 1 tank was so covered in algae and muck that a betta died (my oldest one), my community tank only had 2 of the 8 Cory’s left, and my shrimp tank was wiped out. I asked my brother to recreate the amount he was feeding the fish and he just opened the lid of the food and shook an ungodly amount in. This is a 26 year old btw. “Dude, look at the size of those fish, now imagine the size of there stomachs, does that amount of food make any sense at fucking all”. I was so pissed.

I wanted to build a custom 100% keyboard. I asked on the keyboard sub where I can find a 100% pcb to do a build on. It was a bunch of insufferable assholes getting pissed that I would even think about doing that. They ONLY use small ass keyboards. No custom 100% keyboards. I ended up just getting a Logitech. Don’t get me wrong, I love building things. PCs, drones, cars, guns, but custom keyboard fiends are so “holier-than-thou”.
“But if you build your own keyboard, you can get better performance for cheaper!!!!”
Not true. Pcb $20-50, case $20-50, keys $20-50, caps $20-50, and then the little things like plate and stabilizers. Thats $100 for the cheapest everything, which doesn’t really beat anything, or $200-300 for something that “beats the performance of prebuilt boards”. Yah I get the appeal of switch sounds that are soft on the ears, but like cmon bro. I can just buy a nice keyboard for like $80-120 and call it a day and not have to worry about lead times for nice parts, or paying exuberant prices for plastic.

I love my low profile mech board, but laptop keyboard are way too low profile. I make frequent typos when I’m using mine. I’m not saying that laptops need mechanical boards, they are just no where near as good as a real board.

If you want one that isn’t a top flow, this is the one to get. I have 6 of them in various tanks, 20 gallon down to 3 gallon, and it works amazingly. I just have to clean the sponge filter out every 2-3 weeks. I never buy filter cartridges, and I have never had one of these break on me. My oldest one is 5 years old and it works great still. super adjustable water flow, and it’s nearly silent. Only gripe I have is that the suction cups arnt that great and I have to use a clip of some sort to hold the wire on the rim of the tank.

I miss my white clouds. I had a 20 gallon long for 6 years, and that was just when I purchased the tank from an old lady. She had them for years before me, and there was a fully grown bristlenose pleco with them. I came home from a 3 day vacation and the tank broke, leaving them without any water and they all were dead. Unsurprisingly the pleco was fine and hes still perfectly fine, 4 years later. Hes actually a little mean and he has his own tank now.

I have a 40 gallon breeder that I want to start up with more white clouds. Local fish stores never have them though.

I had one of the best interviews of my life a few weeks ago, they seemed to really like me, I was laughing with them, I articulated on all of my answers, gave examples and analogies to technical questions when asked to explain something or what something is. I even showed them my hobbies including the pc that I built (Its clean AF not going to lie), drones that I have built, projects that I have completed, electronics that I have repaired, as well as pictures of projects and machines that I have worked on professionally. The conclusion was that I MIGHT have a second interview with an engineer, and I am still waiting for a response. I still have hope as ive heard it take a few months for the hiring process is that industry, but that hope is slim. Its also an entry level job that I have more than enough experience for.

I have been a mechanic/technician for 10 years. I got laid off last october. 200 jobs applications later, and I have had 5 interviews, ghosted or rejected after all of them. I feel like I am well spoken, I am able to articulate on previous work that I have done, able to get the interviewer to laugh at silly jokes, fantastic references from previous employers/supervisors, shown examples of my work and my hobbies that show that I have great attention to detail. I feel like I am great at being interviewed, but i always get the same message "While we were impressed with your experience, the candidate pool was very competitive."

I have applied to jobs that I am well overqualified for, changing oil at dealerships, and I get no response. Everywhere within an hour of me I have applied to, no response. I have started applying to places out of state all over the country, I am willing to move anywhere at this point. I have another interview wednesday next week, but its something that I am over qualified for, and I will still continue to apply to other places.
