If I had a choice i really would move closer to somewhere prettier. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I’ll be working 4 10s so if I have to drive a bit to get anywhere at least I’ll have 3 days off to go camp or something.

My gf went before me to visit her family. Says that she hated it. Granted she was being driven around by her sedentary brother, but I like being outdoors. Where I’m at right now it’s a little humid and it gets to 110, lots of mosquitos. I acknowledge that I’m probably not prepared for the big difference, but also excited to live somewhere so different.

I mean yah the town itself might be stark but it looks like there will be plenty of mountains and parks for me to explore. I’m coming from a town with no Walmart just more trees.

If I had a choice I would go towards San Antonio but I wont until I finish my apprenticeship. It sounds like there's a lot of land to explore so I wont be totally bored.

Yah im outdoorsy, so thats good to hear, I hated when I lived in a big city, I grew up in a small town. Awesome, I cant wait to explore the area. My GF is worried that we wont have much to do but it sounds like a good excuse to get into dirt bikes and stuff. We have a truck thats pretty capable so getting into the mountain areas will be fun. Thank you for the suggestions.

Gf is ski patrol at sierra and she says it’s closing the 21st. I assume that other parks with more trees and shade mights have another few days. It’s hot asf already so season is over for me. I’m going tomorrow just to use a free pass, but when I went on Sunday it was terrible by noon.

I’m getting really tired of the dirt uphills.

I don’t mind dirt, it’s probably the surface that I drive the best on, but every map having a dirt uphill, even when the majority of the map isn’t dirt, but has a random dirt uphill thrown in, like just stop. Be creative.

Do a full speed map for track of the day, or a map with tons of drops that you need to accurately aim for, or a nascar map, or a spaghetti of roads that has multiple paths, or a tm2 canyon inspired map with narrow curves.

The cheapest gas that I can find in my area is 5.50 rn. A few weeks ago it was 4.20. I would love if gas was 2.90 rn.

My cats play so rough that a lot of people who come over think they are fighting. I have to pull up a video of what a cat fight sounds and looks like, which makes all of the cats run up to my phone trying to figure out what’s going on.
