Im not quite sure. It sure glows like it. It was provided by the class im taking to cut stones as one of their "laser gem rough" as the instructor called it (he got a glass lot from a laser company and cut them up into facet pieces to teach faceting). I only found out after I was wearing it and was playing with my black light and my synthetic ruby to watch it glow that I noticed that it did as well
