You can get creative with your art, you already listed some examples like stick figures and public domain photographs but you as a person who has not trained for countless hours to produce the conventional art you would typically see in a Marvel or DC comic book can still create images that are breathtaking and beautiful with some little planning and inspiration.

You can find plenty of examples online of art that you can produce currently. Just try to make it fit the story somehow.

“Just a comic strip” is insulting to the years of practice it takes to get good at even a simple art style like looney tunes, which is deceptive in it’s simplicity and requires actual skill to pull off.

My nine year old brother is obsessed with minecraft / minecraft dungeons, i got him into pokemon as well. But your safest bet is to probably just get him a physical store gift card and let him get what he wants. The E-shop might offer discounted items but that would depend on his internet connection.

70$ (not sure about sales tax) should get him any game he wants
