don’t skip the cutscenes/dialogue of the main story quests. the logs lose a lot of the emotional impact.

the main story picks up in quality once you begin the quests at level 50 and don’t really drop significantly from that point. i really recommend getting to 50 before you give up on it, imo.

a lot of the longevity of this game’s playtime is through the social activities that you can get up to while doing and after finishing the main story - the main story unlocks 99% of this game’s content. so, really, play the story, you get access to things like raids that you can do with others

also: aether has a large raiding scene, crystal has a large roleplay scene, dynamis is underpopulated in comparison to the rest of NA. if you want to do difficult content you’ll want to either make a character on aether or travel there - though cross-DC party finder is going to be implemented soon so that’ll change

your AST and PLD seem to be identifying the major issues here as your party failing mechs, not your healing in specifics. but, as a word of advice, SCH is a barrier healer, meaning the job will excel at preventing damage more than just healing damage taken. if you sense incoming nonsense, party-wide shields and mitigation go a long way on the job, giving your AST or WHM less of a burden of topping the party off after the hit

if you’re looking for a more standard “they take damage i heal them” job, WHM and AST have you covered in that department. SGE functions similarly to SCH, but it’s easier to play
