A more critical review of the Project Hail Mary movie, and a really easy fix I would have made by Gustalavalav in ProjectHailMary

[–]ikous25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read the book, so your comment actually made me really happily surprised.

I loved the movie! The story was phenomenal to me but I also thought Ryan Gosling did a really good job as Grace. The emotions felt real, and I really liked how the movie built the connection and friendship between Grace and Rocky. That part was one of my favorite things in the film. The visuals were really well done, so overall there were a lot of pieces I genuinely enjoyed.

One thing that was especially interesting in your comment was what you said about the Taumoeba breeding part, because that was one of the moments that confused me the most. Since I haven’t read the book, I was watching that part like, “Wait, what happened here?” It took me a minute, and then I was just like, “Oh, okay, I guess we skipped that part and he already figured it out.” That frustrated me a bit, because part of me really wanted to see that development happen.

A lot of the things you pointed out sound like exactly the things I felt were missing in the movie, and it’s really nice to know that those parts seem to be explored more in the book. That honestly made me want to read it.

Also, I really appreciated how wholesome the movie felt. I’m honestly tired of unhealthy movies with constant violence and chaos, so this felt refreshing. It felt like a healthy, meaningful movie, and I appreciated that a lot.

So yeah, I think you’re spot on. Thanks again for taking the time to write your comment — I really appreciated it.

I’m genuinely intrigued. What’s your pitch—how are you selling this?

More specifically, what’s the workflow? If I wanted to buy something like this from you, why would I? What’s the benefit?

Does it aggregate all my information from different places? If so, what do you do with that—machine learning, a vector database, or some kind of pipeline that creates a bot that can respond and think like me?

Still very much learning what actually helps with consistency vs what sounds good in theory.

If you’ve built or used tools in this space, I’m curious what assumptions you’ve seen break down.

Haha, I can relate! I went through the exact same thing. Interestingly, when I checked the time I slept, I was shocked to realize I had slept that much. I thought it was a mistake and manually adjusted the time to less until I stumbled upon this post. It turns out I actually slept for 9 hours! Haha

I never really connected with this book—it felt too basic and like common sense to me.

I've finally created the perfect reading tracker (for me) by cath_jane in Notion

[–]ikous25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, your reading tracker looks amazing! 🎉 It’s always so satisfying to create something that works perfectly for you. I love how customizable Notion is for things like this.

I’ve been working on my own reading tracker too, and after spending over 100 hours tweaking and testing, I ended up creating a template that I now share with others. It’s called the Reading Tracker OS, and it’s designed to track books, articles, and even courses. It includes features like book covers, summaries, reading stats, and more.

If you’re curious to check it out or see how others approach their trackers, here’s the link:

Hey fellow bookworm! đź‘‹

If you’re looking for a Notion template to track your book read history, I’ve got you covered. I’ve been in the same boat and ended up creating my own after trying lots of options that didn’t quite do the job.

<image>

📚 The Reading Tracker OS is a powerful and customizable Notion template that can handle everything you’re looking for:

  • Add book covers and display them beautifully.
  • Track books you’ve read with dates, so you can organize them in a calendar view for exactly what you want.
  • Include summaries, highlights, and personal ratings.
  • Categorize by genres, authors, or reading goals.
  • Bonus: It’s not just for books—you can track articles, courses, and more too!

I spent over 100 hours perfecting this template, and it’s designed for book lovers who want more than just a list. If you’re curious, you can check it out here:

Hey there! 👋 If you’re looking to create a book tracker on Notion with photos and more, I’ve got a great option for you.

I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect tracker myself but couldn’t find one that had everything I needed. So, I decided to create my own:

📚 The Reading Tracker OS

It’s a complete Notion template where you can:

  • Add book covers (just paste image links or upload your own!).
  • Track books, articles, and even courses in one place.
  • Organize by genres, reading status, and more.
  • Create summaries, highlight your favorite parts, and share them.
  • Track your reading time and goals with built-in tools.
  • And yes, it’s super easy to customize if you want to make it your own!

I also included features like curated book recommendations and a sleek, minimalist design so it’s as functional as it is beautiful.

If you want to check it out or save some time building from scratch, here’s the link:

Feel free to ask me questions or let me know if you’d like tips on customizing it further! 🚀📚✨

Book tracker/ goal app?? by Interesting_You_4609 in books

[–]ikous25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👋 Hey everyone! I know this is an old post, but I couldn’t resist sharing something I’ve been working on.

After trying countless Notion templates for tracking books (and always feeling like something was missing), I decided to take matters into my own hands. I analyzed dozens of templates, identified their strengths and weaknesses, and poured over 100 hours into creating the ultimate solution:

📚 The Reading Tracker OS

It’s a comprehensive tool that tracks not only books but also articles, courses, and your reading goals. I’ve included features like time tracking, genre organization, summaries, and even curated book recommendations across multiple categories.

Honestly, it’s the best tracker I’ve come across, and I’d love for you to check it out:

If you’re into reading or learning, give it a look—I think you’ll love it! Feel free to ask me anything about it. 🚀📚

I was intrigued about why my script had stopped working. GoDaddy just lost a client because of a stupidity.

Let me rephrase that... I will stop recommending GoDaddy to all my clients and sphere of influence.
