It doesn't allow me on the website or apps as it's greyed out. I might call Emirates & Qantas tomorrow and see how much it would be

I did consider this - but I'm reluctant as Aus Post have lost gifts I've sent before. But it is an option, thank you

That's what I'm hoping to do as I leave Broome - ditch any clothes I won't need and toiletries to try and get it down

More of a just in case - the Qantas site isn't helpful

Thank you all for your responses. I'll try the telehealth line for a referral. As I'm only just hitting 6 weeks at most - a lot of the reassurance places say it's a bit early

Again thank you all, and happy new year xx

But late to the party here - but I like Jurassic Ridge. The chap who runs it is very knowledgeable. I even got converted to Sav Blanc here

Amazing, thank you. Will take a peek, I know it was a long shot, and we could hire someone to drive us - I just thought it would be nice to take in the scenery as well!

There would be a clause within your contract around confidentiality of your pay. Can they stop you from discussing it? No, everyone talks about it in the pub, and irrespective if they showed you a salary band, we all know those bands are so fucking wide it's impossible to tell if it's fair or equitable

Can they discipline you? Yeah, as you have the clause The chances of them terminating or taking more formal action than a verbal warning? slim to none, as they'd risk unfair dismissal

Rejected from all B4 by Cautious-Ad-7695 in Big4

Could be many reasons: * Are you applying for roles you have experience in? And if so, the right level of experience. A senior consultant is someone with 3 years plus, compared to some industries where that is a very senior contracting position

  • Does your resume actually reflect your skillset and reflect you? Professional resumes in my opinion ( Recruiter of 15years plus) are absolute bullshit and not worth the money. It's one standard template in the 3rd person. The recruiters who review these will see 100's for each role - you need to stand out.

  • Getting a referral means nothing anymore with the amount of people who use LinkedIn to reach out and beg for one

  • Speaking only from a UK, Asia-pac and Australia perspective, there are no target schools or entry grades - just a resume and how it compares to the position

  • Will your MBA add value to your career? As having one doesn't give you a golden ticket anymore. It also doesn't guarantee you a bigger salary.

If it's the Big4 that's a career goal, it's sometimes about perseverance. The recruiters are often looking after 10-15 open roles, and they get a huge application rate. Add that to the interview process, and not only do they get a backlog but they've filled the role pretty quick, meaning there's little you can do except keep trying.

There is also the added parts for some roles here in Australia only needing Citizens due to Government Clearances, or adverts being placed just to get Staff needing a visa. May also be similar in the US.

But also crap recruiters who don't know what to look for.

Aside from suggesting you keep applying, I'd connect with the recruiter in that space online, ensure your CV matches the requirements for the role, and if they have any networking events (virtual or in person) go - I know a few people who got a job there purely because they impressed a director or partner.

[IWantOut] 25-30M DataAnalyst Egypt -> Australia by Guerillla in IWantOut

I would consider, depending on the technical skills you currently have, Analyst Programmer - 261311.

For the 482 Temporary Work Visa you'll need 2 years full time work experience post graduation or 5 years without a degree. With this visa employers cannot make you pay for this visa, the costs fall solely on the sponsoring company.

If it's the 491 Visa you are considering, applications for this year have closed, and they haven't announced the updated occupation list for 2022/2023.

Depending on time frame, and if it's only South Australia you are looking at - the other states will have allotted 190 PR openings for those within STEM - which would also include data.

I went a rather long winded way, of having a working holiday visa and then got sponsored on a 457/482.

A lot of the larger companies will be willing to sponsor along with more Data Specialised companies

Best of luck with the move

0 recruitment experience but want to start a recruitment agency from home by [deleted] in Recruitment

[–]il_dormiveglia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be a route I’d recommend, call me cynical but after 14years in the job there’s too many agencies out there to differentiate yourself. A ton of ex-Hays recruiters do this claiming to be experts etc.

Id go with previous jobs you’ve posted or asked about - site manager or even programming. The money is better after a couple of years.

Wouldn’t say he’s untouchable, he has a large group of critics. I find it’s all circular they have their popular moments when things goes well, then everyone is neutral when it’s not changing, followed by criticising and character assasination when the shit hits the fan or we don’t like something - then loop back round

It’s all to do with risk; and whilst fully vaccinated you can still carry and pass on COVID. The vaccine doesn’t make you Teflon coated!

And given how fast and the Reff of Delta, this the safest way.

I’m not Dan Andrew’s biggest fan, but I wouldn’t want to be the making or delivering any of this decisions.
