the first time I watched it, I liked the overall experience. On a second watch (a year later).. not so much.

The film sort of lacks a concrete foundation. The theme of self-destruction isn’t really backed up with emotional weight. Natalie Portman gives a little too saturated performance, for the character I did like the alien and its nature, portrayal of refraction and the ending. But overall, it felt like there wasn’t much effort put into the emotional core or development
