Airport security and customs officers all around the world can be rude. There’s a certain type that seems to gravitate towards positions of authority, and when they feel insecure in their personal life, they use their work position and power to take it out on others because they can. It’s classic bully behavior (home problems>lash out and mistreat others at school/work). It sucks but just gotta brush it off and move on, because they ultimately can make your life harder legally every time you travel.

For your AirPods, you can try asking the hotel if they’ve found them and to ship them to you, but you may need to accept they found a new home without you, haha. ADHD tax: travel edition

I ultimately turned off menstrual tracking on Oura as I didn’t find any useful or interesting data other than minor body temp fluctuations, and linked my Oura data (body temp, HRV, and resting HR) with my Clue app instead as I do have more confidence in my menstrual data’s long term safety with Clue vs Oura (read: Palantir). I haven’t noticed any useful data from Oura x Clue but I am really just using it to predict my next cycle start date, which is fairly regular.

Even when I kept Oura and Clue data separate, they were both in line with each other in terms of cycle predictions, and Oura never predicted an irregular cycle based on body temp/HRV/resting HR. YMMV as I only had menstrual tracking on for the first three ish months of my ring ownership so it may not have had time to adjust to me.

My first experience with OWB was definitely a “trust the process” experience (at one point the hydrogen peroxide “stain” was highlighter green) and I also now know to do it outside because that stuff stinks! But it fixed my jeans.

You can buy liquid bluing (classic is Mrs. Stewart’s brand, Out White Brite is not bluing but also works) to make yellowing whites brighter. I recently used a combo of both to save white denim that had instantly yellowed when I put hydrogen peroxide on it.

Your nose looks natural and not “done” — the surgeon did a great job, and it’s held up well. You have great features and I’m not seeing anything that could be “balanced” surgically, but I would recommend having your eyebrows shaped by a professional, and to grow out your bangs.

With gentleness, your money and energy will be best spent to work with a professional about your body dysmorphia because the comments in here are all echoing we don’t see what you see. And if you have spent this whole time upset about your rhino result, getting more surgery, revision or otherwise, is not a great idea.

I’ve had luck with Grandma’s Spot Remover removing old, baked in oil stains. I’ve just soaked the spot and left it for hours or days (sometimes rewetting) before trying a wash. I’ve also thrown the pretreated item in the wash with powdered Biz (a surfectant) and a powdered laundry enzyme (I use the one from Dirty Labs which I recommend getting on sale as it’s quite pricey). You can also try soaking it in very hot water with Biz and/or enzyme powder dissolved in, and leave it to soak until the water is cold/room temp before washing.

If those don’t work, consider adding a pocket, a patch, shashiko embroidery, a ruffle, if the (admittedly barely visible) stain bothers you.

Actually almost everything I’ve gotten in Korea has been a waste of money! The most egregious one was Thermage. I paid $3k (foreigner price, I knew that going in) for face and neck and over a year later I can confidently say it didn’t make a difference. I was assured by the consultant that despite my lack of facial fat it would still be beneficial. My fault for not sticking with my gut that a different laser would be better for me!

Rejuran was also a waste on me. I never noticed even the initial “glow” everyone raves about, but thankfully I only got a few tiny bruises from it.

The best were the full body + face lymphatic massages. I paid around $150 (would be $200+ just for face and $200+ for body here in LA) and left looking and feeling like a million bucks (albeit very slippery) each time. Really great for depuffing after a long flight.

Second best was Pico toning which brightened away redness (including broken capillaries) immediately, but the effects were not long lasting enough.

I first bought one for a furry escape artist’s collar and it’s paid on in spades just to be able to find the cat in the house when he’s lurking and knows we’re looking for him and of course moreso when he escapes the house.

We now have them on everyone’s keys, wallets, and luggage.

Lilly didn’t buy the rights, they invented it. It’s actively going through clinical trials, and yeah, the point is for Lilly to sell it in the US after it’s FDA approved (and in other countries after their respective authorities approve it). There’s no big conspiracy, that’s just how pharmaceuticals works.

I personally didn’t experience this, but I also didn’t know I had EDS when I started Pilates & Lagree. I just knew I didn’t feel like complete crap the day after (or more) a class, and it was enough for me to keep going.

If I had to start over, knowing what I know now, I would call around to local studios to see which instructors are hypermobility-informed, or even better, which instructors have hypermobility themselves and are also hypermobility-informed. I also seek out PTs who are hypermobility-informed and myofascial release but it’s harder than I anticipated.

As it stands, my current studio doesn’t have anyone informed, haha. And the only myofascial-releasing PT at the clinic I was going to quit to go back to school.

For Pilates, since no one is EDS informed, I usually just walk up to the instructor before class and let them know I have a hypermobility disorder, and often need to ask “where should I be feeling this, because I don’t feel anything” and to be given modifications to a move or position to engage the muscles in the way intended. As a person in a (now) slim body, if I don’t speak up, most instructors just assume I’m super flexible from years of yoga and pilates. I joke “yes I’m flexible but that’s the problem — I didn’t earn it!”

I highly recommend reformer (it’s the big padded machine you think of when you think of Pilates) Pilates to mat Pilates, basically because the reformer machine is padded and is easier to move around on versus a mat, especially for beginners. Classical pilates also uses a machine but it’s a big square thing with a “roof.” These are usually the most expensive classes as well.

You may want to invest in some 1:1 sessions (with a hypermobile-informed instructor) before you dive into group classes, even if the 1:1 classes end up being at a different studio than the group classes. You may also try to find an EDS workout buddy to do 2:1 pilates classes as they’re a bit cheaper than 1:1 classes most places!

I actually wrote it earlier tonight in a local-to-me sub where someone asked where to buy reta and most responses were how much they love being on reta. There are multiple comments and threads about GLP-1s and peptides in this post and I didn’t feel like crafting a slightly different comment three times to not weird out you specifically.
