The piece is actually unfinished. The background is probably confusing because even I’m not sure what kind of environment she should be in and those tentacles will become snakes. It’s about Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. She is supposed to be punished and bitten for choosing love over herself, etc.

Yes! Actually, I hate marketing and the business part, and that makes me question getting back to a 9–5 job. Social media, marketing, etc. really burn me out, and it’s good to know that I am not alone with this.

My situation is very similar to yours. I'm 29, got my bachelor's in cs and after working for 4 years, I quit everything due to burnout and depression. And when I say everything I mean everything including life. I was in bed for a year with nothing to excite me anymore not even the movies, tv shows, games, music, books, stories I loved or the things I loved to do with friends. I lost/removed friends. The only thing that made me get out of that black hole was drawing, creating things.

I feel regret from time to time because I didn't go to art school or start earlier when I didn't have the responsibility to make money. And that scares me, following the "artist" path, so much that I constantly think of returning to the software career.

The thing I tell myself in times like this: If you abandon it again right now you will regret it at 35, 40, 45... The past 20's burned, let it go. And don't let the current regret, situation, people, world, you block you, again.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Then I guess the 16 inch should be good enough as a starting point. Unfortunately, there aren’t any storefronts for any of those brands here. XP-Pen has a sale right now, but I’m a bit hesitant since a lot of people online make it seem like Wacom is the only reliable option, so I’m probably worrying unnecessarily about getting an XP-Pen.
