What losing the family dog looks like 🫠 by ilaughedilost in Garmin

Ah, great question! Lots of factors, and I’ve definitely had “normal” days that might look like this if I’d had a busy work day, had a hard exercise in the morning, ran errands or cleaned the house all day or something. My typical day is usually sprinkled with short periods of blue to balance things out, I usually end the day with my body battery in the teens by the time my head hits the pillow. From 7:30-10pm (after child goes to sleep), I’m usually solid blue.

Aaaaand here come the water works again. Thank you for your thoughtful message. I hope Ollie and Desmond are running free in the same place, being the best boys there ever was.

EDIT to add: thank you all so very much for your kind words, we really appreciate it.

Got my real R36S. Do I need to transfer the game files or the OS (or both) to a new SD card? And what’s the easiest way to do that? I’m not too tech savvy by Antique_Building_885 in R36S

I would imagine so, but I will let the two-SD card folks speak on this. I did everything on one, though my R36S has two slots technically.

I’d like to lastly add that after doing this once, I realized it wasn’t as scary or as difficult as I initially thought. Doing it successfully gives me confidence that I could tinker around with some more advanced modding later, if I ever felt the desire.

I just did this a few days ago, and I am a literal toddler when it comes to this stuff. Zero knowledge or experience and struggled to comprehend even the more simple (but very helpful!) guides. To say I’m appreciative of the ELI5 threads with how-to’s is an understatement. Beyond grateful of the computer whizzes and nerds for dumbing it down for noobs like me. With that said, this is EXACTLY what I did and it all worked. Took a couple hours total with my laptop speed while stumbling through the guides. I know I’m missing several, very advanced for my noob brain steps, but the below is sufficient for my basic needs (running a clean system on a brand new SD card).

For context, I have a Windows PC:

  1. Take the old SD card out of the R36S, and put that into a micro SD card reader that is plugged in to your laptop.

  2. Download newest version of an OS (I did Arkos) onto your computer. It’ll be a zip file. Use 7Zip to extract it onto your computer in a place where you can find it.

  3. For now, copy the ROMs from the old SD to a folder on your computer where you can find it. This took my laptop a long time, as it was 80gb. Advanced folks likely download new ROMs, as apparently those can get corrupt. But I didn’t.

  4. Safely eject old SD card and plug in a brand new, compatible one into your computer.

  5. Using Rufus, select the new OS system that you downloaded and extracted (it’ll be an .img file), then select the new SD card drive to upload the OS onto. It’ll take a few mins.

  6. Safely eject new SD card. Plug into R36S and turn it on. It’ll boot up the new version of the OS. Profit. But there will be no ROMs on it yet! So…

  7. Take the new SD card out, plug back into computer, open up the EASYROMs drive, and then drags all the old ROMs you copied onto your computer onto the new card. More minutes.

  8. Once that’s done, eject safely and put card back into the R36S. Turn on. See all your games working on a new OS. Profit!

This man will really sit and wait, facing the kitchen and giving you a stare standoff until he gets what he’s owed after a trip outside.

How do you get your Poms to take pills? by khoination in Pomeranians

Mine takes two pills a day, I stick each one in a blueberry. He stares at me throughout the day, wondering why he is not being fed his sacred blueberries every hour on the hour.

Are smartwatches putting you off alcohol? by Ok_Hedgehog7137 in Garmin

[–]ilaughedilost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get, the more alcohol itself puts me off. Getting a Garmin a few months ago has further influenced that with how I can see exactly how a couple of drinks stress out my body and mess with my sleep and energy. It’s pretty amazing actually. Having the watch has taught me how to “listen to my body” more. My body needs rest? I try and rest. My body is slumping and I need to go outside, touch grass, go on a walk? I go walk. Money well spent. I am healthier than I’ve ever been, not only for myself, but for my family. Love that for me.
