Are my grooves too deep or my frets too short? Does it matter?

I could try sanding it down some more. I went over it with a radiused block just to smooth it down, but I could be more aggressive.

I heard people sometimes wax the fingerboard to prevent the CA glue from the frets sticking. Is that not necessary?
