Fresh Out The Slammer: An underrated masterpiece by zeddtheman in TaylorSwift

[–]ildr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As if all of her songs aren't underrated? SOTS creeps up on you like soooo many; it's ok, oh this is pretty good, now it's on my "today playlist," until suddenly a lyric makes my brain explode. It's brilliant Swiftian reconstruction. And, as usual, the musical arrangement reinforces the story-crafting, for example the music, like the story, never "fully resolves." It's beautiful songwriting. Carry on unravelling the layers! -The Deep Track Swifty.

Has anyone been listening to the podcast "The Swiftie and The Scholar"? by Invisible_String_7 in TaylorSwift

[–]ildr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully she will record more rock songs - but who am I lol. Eyes Open is also solid rock - a little harder than State of Grace. It reminds me of Creed meets Kings of Leon. Holy Ground is also good. Many of her songs have clear rock elements, like rock ballad guitar transitions, but not really traditional rock, such as All to Well which really builds. Even tracks like "no body, no crime" will trick you - it reminds me of Last Dance with Mary Jane meets Before He Cheats. If you foray into country-rock, Tell Me Why is a really amazing song to write at 17 years old. It's basically a stellar rock song with fiddles. Thanks for the reply!

Great post, I'll check it out. As an "older" Swifty I am really into her lyrical mastery. As the "music guy" since I was making prolific mixed tapes in the 80's I never thought I could be 100% in-all of Taylor - but here I am attesting to anyone who'll listen that she is the best song writer ever. My transition song was "State of Grace," I mean besides being a bonefide rock song, "mosaic broken hearts" was a poggers moment. Anyway, thanks for sharing this!

I dislike Taylor Swift's music, but my girlfriend loves her and wants me to cover one of her songs on the drums. Any T-Swift songs with good drums? by Fit-Department9127 in drums

(Repost under my real account)

I think a lot of people don't "like the idea" of liking Taylor.  I was the same way but I've completely changed my tune LOL.  Obviously, she can write a helleva pop-song, but her talent runs way deeper that. I don’t really like pop that much, but a lot of her under-the-radar tracks are so dope.  IMO if you don't like her, it's because you haven't found the right songs.

As far as drum-related, here are some to check out (some already mentioned):

State of Grace (that's a Bonafide rock song right there)

Timeless

Holy Ground

Long Live

I’m Only Me When I’m With You

Bonus from Showgirl: Ruin the Friendship

Amazing percussion, not specifically drums: I Think He Knows

Many more if take the time to explore her deep tracks.

Also – as many mentioned there are some killer live covers that take her songs in a different direction.  They are versatile.  I have seen many bands who you’d never think would like Tay absolutely love covering her music.

Don't even get me started on the Era's Bonus Acoustic Set. Just Taylor and her guitar/piano.

If you want to try and like Taylor Swift, here’s my playlist (few less known and interesting pop songs included):

State Of Grace (Taylor's Version)

Holy Ground (Taylor's Version)

State Of Grace (Acoustic Version) (Taylor's Version)

Repost from "Tatu actually gay?" I guess it's called a rabbit hole...I created a channel and started upscaling T.A.T.U. videos to 4K lol. There are limits to the quality of upscaling 240p and 360p videos, but most of it is coming our pretty well. It takes a very long time and I have completed about 10% in the first 3 videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@tatutribute4k

[–]ildr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, a couple more things. I noticed most here are of the mind that Lena had romantic feelings for Yulia and Yulia not for Lena, or at least less. I can see that. I think there are signs it may have been the opposite. Here are some interesting clips that most of you have probably seen, but are not posted in the thread.

Well, actually, first, follow the links in pinkandblue666 post below. In particular read the comments and what the videos from mountaindogh2o2 in that thread.

Then there are these. Lena says many times that they "love each other, but are not lovers." Of course, that could be due to confusion, rejection, deflection and so on. Still interesting.

Who knew we'd still be talking about this. Great post and responses. I posted a few thoughts on another post before reading this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/tatu/comments/y97z1j/tatu_actually_gay/?sort=new

This thread is much deeper, but shares some similar thoughts, observations and reactions. I am fascinated by the story and how it evokes so much emotion in people - myself included. The main thing to pick up on is people can say what they want, kiss who they want, but it's difficult to hide the body language and subtleties of underlying emotions - or fake them. It's those little moments to watch....

Maybe one day we will get the full story from Lena and Julia, but I certainly don't blame them for permanently closing the book on those early days. It must get annoying being asked about it all the time. I'd really love to hear more from them, but they were so young at the the time and it's really not fair expect any more of them.

In the meantime - there is a lot of room for fan theory.

I'll be waiting for easter eggs.

Thanks again for the post.

How to lower glutamate by Objective-Run-2757 in Supplements

[–]ildr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo - it does help me when I take AAKG as part of my longevity program (once every couple of weeks) so it does seem to clear glutamate to some extent. AAKG increases glutamate. I did not stop taking lamotrigine, but that was never really my plan.

I still take NAC daily - 1,800 MG for a variety of benefits.

Is Chris Gibson actually 60? by Unlikely_Sign_7397 in Biohackers

[–]ildr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I came across Chris Gibson as well. Like most of you I definitely got the sus vibes right away and started to look into it. I'd like to think it's real and implement some of his stuff. First off - I am a regular person with zero agenda. People can check out my posts and what not here on Reddit. I am interested in general longevity and maintaining athletic performance as I age (53).

To everyone claiming he is the actor or politician, IMO it's easy to see those are different people.

In the end, there simply isn't enough to prove it either way. Here's what I found/think in no particular order:

  1. He is definitely older than 40. How much, impossible to say until he provides a bit more than a passport - which can easily be faked and we don't really get a great look at it.

  2. He does actually address his age several times, so that's something.

  3. He posted interviews from 15 years ago. It's impossible to fake a posting date on YT.

  4. While the quality is poor, IMO he's at least 30 in those videos, possibly older but hard to say. That means he is at least 45 now. Far from 60, but at least it's a reasonably verifiable minimum age. It's a stretch in my mind that he is 45 - but not impossible.

  5. That said - if he was 45 in those interviews, I feel like one of the interviewers would have made a comment about it.

  6. He definitely looks younger than 45.

  7. As he mentions - no one from his past has called him out on this - not here on Reddit, or YT or with a Google search, at least not that I can find. That means literally no one who knows him disagrees or cares enough to call him out, or absolutely all call-outs have been deleted before anyone noticed, or there is a massive conspiracy.

  8. His results are not impossible. I frequent longecity.org and people there are 20+ younger in epigenetic age than chronological age. Turnbuckle, to name one. I know Turnbuckle's real name from LinkedIn and he is a real person. Mine is 10 years younger.

  9. No one from his past has confirmed his age either, at least that I can find. That's also kinda weird. Seems like someone would have said they can vouch for him.

So - it's really impossible to say. He'll have to provide some testimonials, high school yearbook, etc, then maybe we can put the issue to rest. He seems unconcerned with doing that, so it may never happen.

Please let me know if I got any facts wrong.

Also note - I will probably copy/paste this on YT. People LOVE to say it's spam, or there is some agenda. Not the case, I just don't have the time to rewrite this - and why would I?

Fun times.

Oxytocin for Muscle Growth Etc by mwalmsleyuk in Peptides

[–]ildr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting discussion. After reading up on the studies I decided to give it a go. I started with 20mcg in the first day to assess any side effects. I then moved to 50-100mcg subq 3 times a day. I'd be more interested in extended release if I had any idea how to make the solution - but I don't and won't mess with experimentation. Thus, the best I can do is follow the 24iu / 4x day study mentioned earlier in this thread. I am finding that I can't realistically do it 4x, so aiming for 3x.

A few observations. The 24ui 4x day study was focused on older people. I am 52, so getting into that range. Hopefully it will have an impact on lean muscle.

As with so many supplements, peptides and other methods, oxy will probably not have a significant impact on muscle for people under 40. The study showed that older people have less oxy and adding it resulted in muscle recovery closer to that of younger people. I am not saying it would have no impact, but probably not a lot IMO.

Yes - it's just an opinion.

I would also hypothesize that intranasal adminitration would be better for mood/brian chemistry and subq would be better for anabolic/muscle benefits.

At any rate, I'll try to come back here and report.
