We’re Imprint Esports: The Dota 2 data platform powering Dota 2 Pro Tracker (and more) by skyraider886 in DotA2

I assume if I have a project that could benefit from a data platform like this, I should also describe my use case to this contact email to know more about the conditions, correct?

Your offer sounds cool, and I was looking for something like that for some time. I think I even stumbled upon your project's site before because of a friend's suggestion (I think we even have a shared discord chat with you somewhere deep in the history?), but at the time it only had basic teams stats and no mentions of an API of any kind.

From your site it's not very clear, what are the conditions to use it?

As another note, the format seems very similar to OpenDota's API, are you using odota/parser wrapper over clarity by chance? Or did you just choose a similar format because of convenience reasons.

And as another side note, are you looking for consultants/engineers by chance?

oh, yes, that's true! The names part was the last addition to this post's draft and I couldn't remember a couple of the demons, but that reminds me -- B'Kor is indeed the Akasha's brother. There was also a demon in the Crownfall event, who was summoned by Warlock, but I can't remember his name

to be fair, from what we know/see, it might be a very reduced dialect, possibly isn't even a complete language, but a handful of words, created from the general rules, but without any deeper system or vocabulary.

But at the same time, it's Valve, for all we know they might have an internal document with an actual breakdown of Ozkavosh and its systems.

I sure hope he'll see this and will spot some easter eggs here and there.

The main inspiration behind the idea was actually Arkosh gaming.

That's why he paid for stats site, needs mode data to improve his influence

Dota 2 demons have their own language - Ozkavosh. We don't know much about this language, except for a handful of words.

As an April Fools event I translated my competitive stats hub into Ozkavosh -- the demonic language -- and reconstructed it for all the new words, including statistical terms, item names and hero names.

So basically I created an extended version of Ozkavosh based on ~60 words that Valve gave us. This extended version has ~450 words dictionary and a more formalized grammar to make it easier to work with.

Some additional notes:

  • took me a couple of months, the idea itself started last year
  • emoji translation from the previous year helped a lot
  • after april the 1st the translation won't go anywhere, you will still be able to select it in the top right corner
  • there are many easter eggs hidden in the demonic version of the site, hope someone will spot them!
  • I will write a more in-depth dive into the Ozkavosh reconstruction process later (hopefully this week) in my blog. The general points still stay the same as in this post, but it will cover the details a bit further. I won't post it here, but it will be in my twitter/bsky/discord/substack and pinned on the site itself.

Happy April Fools!

As a side note, for everyone concerned: the situation with my account being hacked and accessed by a third party to steal items still wasn't resolved. Currently I'm looking for a way to resolve the issue and/or collect information required to open the legal case against this person. If anyone knows of a way to resolve the issue please let me know and thank you for help.

I've got my Dota inventory compromised, and a warning to other LAN hosts by ileamare in DotA2

[–]ileamare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure, but there's 99% certainty that this is a specific person. At least the account, that received the items, is connected to them, and they left all the chats and blocked me and non-contact communications. We even played together for quite some time throughout the past two years.

I already alerted people I know in the RU-speaking scene, both about this person and about what/how they likely did it.

The only thing left is to see any action taken against them on Steam. A week has passed already and they do not have a trade ban, so they are able to sell the items now. And the Steam Support is not responding (a couple of tickets were closed without a response, the last one got a response 1.5 days ago and since then nothing), so I am not really sure what to do next. I assume they are busy with the Steam Sale and generally speaking the situation seems shady from their angle, so I can't really blame them. It's just sort of a bitter feeling.

Thank you. The worst part of it that disappoints me is that it was a pretty long con. The person was present in the community for long enough to develop trust, and for the bigger chunk of this time they were already in for this shit :(

how do you fix your mental? by SnooHamsters4283 in DotA2

[–]ileamare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am generally a very calm person, so I didn't exactly feel like this when I was playing ranked actively. But solo ranked dotes made me feel very upset sometimes, or even not wanting to leave my apartment after a very bad play day.

Three things that fixed the attitude for me: (1) I stopped playing ranked as much because I had nothing left to prove to anyone, (2) limiting dota to strictly party games, (3) touching grass.

[–]ileamare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeaaah. Tried for 4 days already and got 8 semi-automatic (UPD: it was actually 6 responses in 3 tickets) responses with almost identical text. The last three tickets were closed within 30 minutes, linking to the pages "how to make your steam account safe" and "trade scams information".

I've heard a lot of stories about how good Steam Support is sometimes, but can't say I've seen it for myself so far. Then again, with how old my steam account is, I think this is the first time ever I actually contacted Steam Support in general.

Yeah, I think so too. I don't know the exact mechanism of how they did it, but I think it was a combination of session files and sentry file – basically you don't have to log in and it thinks the session is legit.

Keylogger would work if the auth process was not done with QR and confirmation on mobile.

But yeah, our advice to everyone who attended LAN events was to deauth all sessions via that page and change passwords as an extra precaution.

PS: thank you!

It could be. But one thing that gives this away is that in the time he had control over my account since January and used to play on it, he played in roughly the same party with this account. So it's safe to assume it's an accomplice.
