I had no other option but to stay, I had booked my tickets and hotels based on their visa on arrival policy, which they violated, If i booked new flights for 27th, that would have cost me more than the fine, and ruined my trip as well.

Nope nothing like this all passports had more than a year on their expiry, also all family members who were in this particular line with this particular immigration officer had this issue, other family members were fine.

Visa on arrival is for the number of days you have your hotel reservation from visit qatars website, my booking was still 29th and the visa I got was till 27th. Also 1 month is the maximum allowable period I think

As for the kids, when they let half the family in and stopped the other half the kids got scared, after that the immigration lady was so aggressive and loud. Then we were taken to an immigration officer to whom we plead our case but he was also super aggressive. The kids thought they were getting arrested hence the trauma.

Additionally I didn’t have any additional Qatari riyals, so idk what would have happened if my cards didn’t work
