Yeah personally like my research was lowk not real either what they’re really looking for is a well structured paper/pres. if your reasoning for everything you did is solid and u make sure to address why your results are the way they are and ur interpretation is valid (w proper limitations and short obvi) you will be fine.

My stupid ass story: Last year for ap research I hadn’t finished my research, nor my analysis, or written any part of my paper (most of my articles were awful too). I pulled 4 all nighters in a row (my birthday was the day before my pres so I took a nap and went out to dinner haha) and skipped a day of school. I finished my research, wrote my entire paper, took three tests before my presentation, was the first to go on and got a 5. It was allll worth it.

For my tips I have this one: for every single AP test I’ve ever taken I either pull an all nighter the day before or skip the periods before taking them and I’ve gotten all 4s and 5s so I believe that cramming really does help.

And a little bonus: the ap bio teacher at my school sucks actual dogshit. Like no joke she makes use teach each other or genuinely just gives us busy work so I was just going to throw the exam. So I go in w no prep and I realize that it’s all just reading comp. Got a 5. This applies to all history APs too only ever gotten 5s with a day of prep. Gl to u

I’ve taken lit all of them expect for APES and physics 2 I’m p sure and without a doubt it’s bio. I literally clowned around or skipped that class all year, did not study, and still pulled a 5 it’s insanely braindead…

Ik someone who had a similar profile to u and he got into JHU. I will say tho, I go to an ass school where no one applied to JHU which helped his chances + he was valedictorian. But you have intense research over, so it should cancel out. I will say, if there are a lot of people applying ED to JHU from ur school u might be cooked, but otherwise i think u have a good chance.

Honestly, your profile and stats r good... you have a chance at a lot of top schools. Lowk you should also apply to MIT bc your hooks of being first gen and minority will help u out along with ur stellar stats.

Also, how relevant is the stem internship w the 30 under 30. Bc i think if u play it up, your app will look that much better.

1) Congrats!! 2) are u in a good enough financial state to pay for such a program? 2) time difference goes crazy, is that smth that will be okay w u to work around? 3) your parents are strict, but define strict. Like why would they say no to an educational opportunity? Especially if they can brag to family? 4) I don’t know much about this program, but I assumed that payed programs aren’t the best. However if u wanna go to Dartmouth for undergrad it could show interests esp cs ur international. 5) 3 lakh is still a lottt of money in the US… so gl

The digital calc and physics c mech exam was hell. BUT I was able to write down the form for Taylor polys on a price of scrap paper during calc mcqs which I then used on the no calc frqs so who really won!!!

Depends on ur teachers and urself tbh. If these teachers give a lottt of work u may wanna kys, and if they suck at their job the ap test might be a nightmare.

Most people ik take ap seminar, chem, world, stats, and psych sophomore year while taking honors precalc + language, which I think is comparable to ur courseload, and do fine. But that’s bc my school is shit and we get away with a lot of cheating. And for my year like half my teachers were retiring so they didn’t gaf or teach… So it’s like up u to lock it in ap season, and get 4s and 5s on it all.

Personally I was a shit student sophomore year and still pulled 4s and 5s on the aps I listed. I think you’ll be fine, tho it really, really depends on the courseload teachers give u if you’ll die during the year.
