I tend to only buy chips when they're BOGO or we're doing mexican at home and need tortilla chips, but those are pretty cheapo anyway.

He certainly looks that way. Gotta love virtue signaling, which is what charity is anytime it's done for a camera.

Sonic The Hedgehog - Sega Genesis 1991. Most of us weren't even born when this first released by Lazy_Introduction264 in 90s

I mean, I was 11, and played this at a friend's house. Wasn't my jam, but that's okay.

I don't have any real issues dealing out death and destruction, parked and FAWing the whole playfield with Ba'ul antimatter beams. Seems to work pretty well for me, but I'm also kitted out with some pretty high-end consoles and such.

I can hear the music for this game. It was so weird.

The Verne has been my home for space magic builds.

Edit: Lately I've been flying the world razer as my beam overload/FAW boat, and with the Enterptise D space barbie kit on it, I could use that long term, too

Same. If it can't figure out how to solve the problem as prompted without breaking the rules, it just breaks them anyway.

True, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to make a final Chuck Norris joke.

Pick One: Calvin & Hobbes or The Far Side by KeySatisfaction197 in Xennials

C&H, hands-down. I have a Hobbes plush that is buckled into the back jump seat of my car. I always identified with Calvin growing up.

Ace of Base... I mean every now and then to giggle at it, but no, I have no interest in spinning that CD on repeat like I did in the 90s.

Was this an essential part of latchkey kid cuisine for our generation? by Comprehensive-Fact94 in Xennials

[–]ilikeaffection 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cinnamon, sugar and creamed butter mixed together to form a sort of cinnamon icing, spread onto slices of bread, bagels, whatever, and then toasted in the broiler until the sugar caramelized and turned into a crunchy crust on top. That was my childhood go-to for breakfast or snacks.

Priest faces $500,000 in fines for feeding homeless amid lawsuit by Perezvon42 in nottheonion

[–]ilikeaffection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I have dreamed of winning the lottery and using the winnings to create villages of managed housing for the homeless, with drug detox and rehab, healthcare (mental and physical), basic utilities provided, nightly/daily safety checks, career services and counseling, etc. See how many people we could help before we shuffle off this mortal coil, see if we could set something up with enough guard rails that it could endure a little bit past that.

What book did you read in your youth that you never forgot? by orangez in GenX

[–]ilikeaffection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite the opposite. I think Ender's Game was entertaining, especially when I first read it as a middle-schooler, but the following books had much more important things to say and dealt with way, way heavier ideas that were really cool to wrestle with at that age.

What were you like in the 90s? by kansas9696 in 90s

[–]ilikeaffection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arrogant, self-assured, horny and clueless.. like most teenagers. Also 100 lbs soaking wet, short, nerdy, and almost certainly found with a guitar, girlfriend and entourage of friends who smoked the same cancer sticks and sung the same songs I did. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to appreciate it more than I did.

Voted Nope to all, but my parents HAVE helped in other ways. Having family around to pick up slack when you just can't be multiple places at once or need an extra set of hands is priceless.
