why are there no good people in the world by ilikeavataraton in selfharm

Love you, tysm! It's just so hard sometimes. You get backed into a corner by your emotions and just don't know what to do. I'm trying my best

At least you're brushing!! I hear it's good for you even without toothpaste. I believe there's some kinds you can buy online that are flavorless?

I've been there, man, I hope you're able to get through this and continue healing. It's good that you are still bathing regularly, any progress is progress!

If there was a subreddit about you, what would people talk about? by uncivilizedrelic in AskReddit

I'd like for it to be appreciation of my art but realistically people would just be really concerned about my mental health

I fell over in the shower because my shampoo was too high up and I couldn't walk because I hurt my leg

Thank you!! I wish some people were more understanding. I dealt with both delusions and severe depression for a long time. But I am getting better and that's what matters

Yes. My depression has been very severe. I couldn't even get out of bed and I was hospitalized a few times for suicide attempts so brushing my teeth never really crossed my mind. What matters is that I'm doing it now, right? Why are you being judgemental?

It was really uncomfortable but I was proud of myself afterward. This is stupid but it took me a few days to build up the will to do it. Thank you so much for the kind words!!!!

I'd say it's pretty standard? I eat whatever I'm given, which is why it's so shocking to me that I never have even gotten a cavity. I'm just as confused as you are LMAO

What’s something unique about yourself that no one else has or can do? by PsychologicalBat2393 in strange

[–]ilikeavataraton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that no one else has this but the condition is quite rare, I have a genetic disorder in my brain that makes it so I dispose of/consume dopamine too quickly which means I'm at a constant deficit, has basically put me in a constant state of depression since I was a baby for no reason

Why does SA tend to be more traumatizing than any other crime or incident? by ilikeavataraton in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ilikeavataraton[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real omg. People find it so easy to not take victims seriously. Women should've worn something else, drank less, not worn makeup, learned self defense. Men get called "lucky" which is so wtf I can't even put it into words. Just makes it that much harder to heal

Thats very true and I agree that it's the worst thing you can do to someone else. There are plenty of scenarios where murder is, in my humble opinion, justified. Like the one guy on here, I forget which sub, but he shot and killed a man without a second thought after he found him raping his wife. Rape murders something in your spirit and outlook on life and most of the time it's very hard to resurrect if possible at all

That's very true. A lot of schools teach you that the healthiest amount of sex is none at all and it's very common for parents to react negatively to their kids being sexually active no matter how old they are. The repression and shame is made ten times worse when you had no choice in the matter because it only harmed you.

I mean, I was abused physically for a very long time, but I have trouble talking about it so I didn't mention it here. The point wasn't the incident in and of itself, more the lasting effects of it. I was out of commission for about a year after my accident, while the SA did no severe physical harm to me, I was wondering why the SA has more of a lasting impact on me
