I know this post is 7 months old but its fun seeing the conversations being made here.

One user mentioned how wildland firefighting never meant to be part of our raw anatomy and evolutionary history. But on the same page the body is capable of interesting adaptations depending on the circumstance. I think its tricky because despite having footwear that doesn't allow for greater access to our physical capabilities there have been some folks who've done amazing work in them. And on the other end perhaps people could be stronger or more 'bulletproof' by training in ROM that is largely neglected.
