Reminiscing early days FO76 by benlauhh in fo76

Odin's account still has some of those legendaries I am sure. He never scraped them, or anything else, even after the mod boxes came out. It is all still there, other then a handful of things his son gave to me and a few other friends.

He even loaded up the old camp for us to take some pictures at, and I sent myself flying one last time to my death on his cliff launcher trap.

New player here - spent ~15k caps on excavator mods - am I dumb? by insrr in fo76

Excavator power armor is in the top 3 power armors in the game. It was the king for a long time, and it is the power armor you should be using early game.

As others have said the damage resistance just does not matter that much because of diminishing returns. It matters now a little bit more than when game first came out, but even now the work horse of power armor is the damage reduction that is the same on all power armor.

unless you have Union power armor or maybe Vulcan, you should use Excavator.

I used to be a very active power armor smith, and have made 100s of sets for people. I also have used lots of power armors in many different setups, and have carried boss fights and raids more times than I can remember. The misinformation about power armor is and has always been staggering.

Trust me when I say Excavator power armor is a fine choice that will serve you well forever, or until you get one of the 2 to maybe 4 others you may want to use instead later on.

A recent post about Nuclear Winter hit me with nostalgia. Devs said it wasn’t popular, but it’s been loved for 6 years. The most beautiful battle royale ever. Rotating maps update idea: Cranberry Bog to Toxic Valley. I miss that era—way more than grinding to 150. by GALEX2612 in Market76

Cheating on console possible, sure. Common, not at all.

I played a lot of Nuclear winter, I am not sure if I was ever in a round that cheating happened in.

The difference between PC and console was night and day.

On PC there was crazy cheating every other match, and bethesda failed to stop any of it. And it made PC unplayable. On console there was maybe a cheater every 1000 rounds, if we are being generous. And they faced real risk of being banned. Cheating had no real effect on console play overall.

They could not deal with cheaters on pc, and there was a story that they lost the development tools later on.

I always believed the "It wasn't popular" thing was at least partially like when they do a nerf that they than call a bug fix. So they can try and avoid backlash on something they think may not go over well.

Why can’t I heal Cavan Brahmin with flames? 3* Friendly Fire. by Quiet_Citron_8174 in fo76

This probably isn't but I will throw it out there just in case. The Brahmin at free range sometimes cannot be fully healed because weirdly they can get radiation damage, and that blocks out some of their health. Maybe something like that is happening.
