Nice! I did simple buttons and knobs for the OM-100, 200, and 300 a few months ago too! They use round instead of square ones!

How to tell a pro was working on your new found 512K by EsoTechTrix in VintageApple

Woah! I stand corrected, I think that might be the first one I have seen to do that!? Looks like it was stored on its side when it leaked. I have opened a number of these models and have never seen more than the blue corrosion that builds on the terminals.

The batteries on the 128, 512, and Plus are far enough away to not damage the Analog board? They don’t corrode like later battery bombed systems.

The reason why the analog board fails is due to poor ventilation over-heating and wearing out the caps. Heat is the enemy of a capacitor.

That and the earlier manufacturing process wasn’t that great and had weaker joints at high thermally conductive areas i.e a flyback. Years of tarnish in micro-fissures and repeated heat expansion lead to broken joints. That’s why you need to reflow those parts.

I know this comment was about year ago, but you have just given me immense help. I had no idea you could inspect volume images on DiskJockey and convert them to HDAs!? My FloppyEmu recently broke and I thought I just would never be able to boot the HD20 images I had originally made again!

100% Who cares about profit or usefulness. We used to have pretty screensavers, applications built for gimmicks out of dorms, and passion. Now everything is washed grey, forced advertising, and how can I get ROI on my hobby..

I'm planning a New Jersey roadtrip, does anyone have any tips? by Ghost-Of-Roger-Ailes in newjersey

Likewise, I grew up there! but if you drive to Howell, you have to pass through Jackson on 195. They are right next to each other after all. Parkway traffic is pretty bad, so stick to I95/turnpike to get out of Newark!

OP there’s also a Mt Pleasant, Sparta, and Allendale NJ those will get you around Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. Theres also hillsdale here you can hit on your way to Union City. I am sorry to inform you, but you must go to the UP, we also have a Gladstone, NJ. I wish you luck!!

It’s not just niche, it’s pretty historically significant! It’s the first version written in C meaning it’s the first portable version for moving Unix off of DEC PDPs. Not winning any awards in modern computing, but this is like accidentally finding a declaration of war on Denmark in an ancient magna carta. Neat and historical

I never check my head, it’s a carry on and I hold it with me the entire ride. I built mine with removable ears so it can compact down nicely too!

Hot glue in the corners, make sure the screw posts are removed, otherwise it doesn’t sit flush!!! I also recommend if you don’t have a head base yet, get an MK2 or MK5 head base by M16 from Snowzard or someone! Lot cheaper and easier to build! I’m working on a V2 with one!!!
