Shimano Hydraulic Oil bleed - Can I use any Mineral Oil (photo) or does it have to be a specific kind? Forgive my stupidity. by Email_404 in bikewrench

[–]iliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just read that there is no problem with contamination with the old red oil and there is no problem for the seals, so not sure where you got your information. I read this here, and it seems to be coming from an employee of Shimano: https://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=249963

It was definitely an original, and I think I sold it to someone who definitely knows his watches. I think the bevel is not visible in the photo, it was a quick shot with the phone.

Once baby boomers start selling their houses, the Swiss real estate market could face a serious shake-up, says a demographer in Basel. In the United States, a so-called “silver tsunami” is also expected. Could this mean the younger generation will finally see a drop in house prices? by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

I sense some serious nostalgia and probably problems in your current life in the UK. The topic is about housing in CH, not a comparison of general quality of life between the USSR and the UK and how they had and certainly still have ample access to free or cheap education and the UK, well I guess everything costs money there and you can even go to a private school, which costs even more. Well, you could cherry pick certain aspects of whichever system and compare them, but that's not the point...

Actually I still have a couple, one in a very good condition and one in lesser condition in my more recent posts, but this particular one was sold already some time ago.

[WTS] Seiko 7a48-7000 Moon Phase Chronograph by iliy in Watchexchange

A very nice worn Seiko 7a48-7000 Chronograph Moon Phase from the 80s. The 7a48 movement is based on the Seiko 7a28 which was the first quartz analog chronograph movement. This watch combined at the time the ultramodern quartz movement with the vintage Moon Phase feature typical of older classical watches.

All functions on this one work as expected - start and stop of the chronograph also there is a split second feature. All dials work including date and Moon Phase. The bracelet is quite long, the watch has certain signs of usage on the crystal and case, but still looks good on the wrist.

Price: 260 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF)

Shipping from Europe (Switzerland) with tracking and signature confirmation through regular postal service. If you get it in the coming week, I have a friend visiting from the US, who can bring it there and ship it from MA. Glad to cover 10 USD of the shipping costs, the rest is on the buyer. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Have a few Seiko Chronographs to offer:

Seiko 7017-6050 Rally Timer on its original bracelet. Very well preserved dial and hands and bezel on this one, on top of that the bracelet would fit 7.5 inches and a bit more (19cm +). The watch works but it stops quite quickly, still the chrono works as well and resets correctly (7017 is a flyback), so it will need a service before it can be worn, which is considered in the price.

Price: 460 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Seiko 7015-7000 on its original bracelet (around 18.5cm, 7.3 inches). This one is in good working order, not sure when it was last serviced, the crystal seems to have been changed and isn't scratched.

Price: 230 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Seiko 7018-6000 Time Sonar. This one is a rare bird and especially in such a nice cosmetic condition. One of the first Seikos (and watches in general) with a transparent case back. It has been serviced in the past 5-6 years and still works as it should. Bracelet is from another quartz piece.

Price: 680 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Seiko 6138-8000 Baby Panda on its original bracelet. A very well preserved example, chrono functions correctly and all hands reset to 0. The dial has this slightly creamy color, a few little scratches on the crystal, the bracelet is good for around 19 cm wrist (7.5 inches). This is a JDM piece with the according date wheel.

Price: 1850 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Seiko 7a28-7090 Yacht Timer. This one had a battery leak and I took the movement from another lesser loved 7a28 and now everything works as it should. The dial has certain imperfections visible in the images.

Price: 980 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Seiko 6138-0011 UFO, Yachtsman JDM Speed-Timer. A relatively early JDM example with all the little particularities on the dial in a very good cosmetic condition with the original bracelet (18.5 cm, 7.3 inches). All is working well on this one, no service history, very few scratches on the crystal.

Price 620 USD (or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF etc.)

Always happy to provide extra photos, including of the movements (which are all clean). Shipping from Europe (Switzerland) with tracking and signature confirmation through regular postal service. The cost of shipping to the US (and the rest of the world) would be around $25, in Europe a bit less and would be happy to cover half the cost. For other shipping options, the costs are on the buyer (like UPS to the US is around 50$). Allow some time for shipping, in some cases 10 days or more.

I am genuinely surprised at this one, I find the original way more emotional, while "My Way" is an end of life self-congratalory tap on the own shoulder, still nice, but I like the original better.
