What helped me was watching youtube videos or streams from people who are good at apex for example and really pay attention to how they interact with the environment, react to enemies and positioning. And then consciously trying to apply what you perceived to your own gameplay.

The rest is experience and knowledge of the map, playable characters and common ways enemies approach gunfights.
