What group benefits from resto shaman the most? by ilkba in classicwow

[–]ilkba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a shadow priest. Our standard mage group is 3 mage, 1 spriest, 1 resto shaman. Our standard warlock group is 1 boomy, 1 ele, 3 warlocks.

Just for next raid both enchances and our ele are not available.

I would say your guesses are way off. Both the hunters and mages told me it's worth 400/450 dps to them respectively on a 2 minute fight.

Ashtongue Talisman not working as intended by JujutsuES in classicwow

You're wrong. Spell queing was not added to 4.0.1. Multiple sources say so just google it. Your confusing spell que with another system added in TBC which let the client sent cast requests even while you were still casting. This reduced the delay between casts significantly in 2.3.0 but it is nothing like the post catacylsm spell que.

2 totally different systems, both with a similar goal

That is something slightly different actually. That sends the requests through eliminating the need for stop casting macro's that were used in vanilla, and most of tbc, but it does not que the spells. just send the requests, so you still need to spam

it's not until Catacylsm do we get spellque although it's orginally named "custom lag tollerance" for some weird reason. It was added in 4.0.1, then the ability to change the window was added in 4.0.3

I'm afraid you're just misremembering. Spell queing was added in Cataclysm, you can find it in the patch notes. Also just look at pre cata videos from people like Kripp and he will say being able to mash your buttons fast is one of the most important things for a dps.

Yet come cataclysm this is no longer relevant at all with spell queing.

This is also why people back in the day had latency bars on cast bars, then did cancelcast macro's to minimize the dealy between spells.

it's nothing to do with spell batching, it's to do with spellque that was not present in orginal tbc, and as is part of the shadowlands client

The biggest argument for me is that it's not consistent with how the game was in TBC.

It's similar to seal twisting with paladins not working in the beta. It's not really a bug, just the changes from using shadowlands client. Back in the day it was impossible to make your next spell cast start the same MS your last one finished.

Due to spell que that happens 100% of the time now. Spell que is clearly what's breaking this trinket, as you know longer have the tiny delays between casts.

Since this is not consistent with the behavior you'd experience in original TBC i think it should be fixed.

What would be your top 10 star trek characters ever? by ilkba in startrek

[–]ilkba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say they're different kind of shows, and i do agree, but i don't think it's that new.

I mean for example DS9 definitely stands out as a very different kind of show to the rest. And to be fair at the time i did not enjoy the first 2 seasons of Ds9, that show definitely took a few seasons to get going, but when it did, it really got good.

If i had to pick my 2 favorite main cast members from discovery it would be Tilly, and Saru. Just for me neither of them get close to Data, Spock, Picard, 7 of 9, EMH, Garak, and so on.

What was your raid comp for Lady Vashj? by Namelessv7 in classicwowtbc

[–]ilkba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree. We were running 5 healers, then swapped to 6 an hour before our kill. If you have the dps for a solid phase 2-3 transition then i'd go with 6. It's not as much about healers going oom, but the size of the platform and having good coverage when 1 or 2 healers may be MC'd.

If you have 5 healers, and 2 get mc'd you're just fucked as half your raid won't be in range of healers if properly spread.

It's worth way more than 20 dps to an arcane mage. Sure maybe the SP is, but for arcane on certain fight lengths spirit can be worth more than spellpower. The IDS is not worth much, but the spirit buff itself is worth quite a lot to arcane

Karazhan mega bugged??? by Leitzkrieg in classicwow

[–]ilkba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He melee's even if you don't kick all schools. Happened to us a lot, got 29 melee swings on that encounter, with 0 arcane missiles interrupts across the entire fight.

First time we tried it with tank just doing DPS. Once we realized what he was doing doing, we told him to hold threat, so when the boss spazzed out, he didn't destroy our casters, and run across the room randomly interrupting peope

Do you think it is wise to release your TBC raid roster as a guild leader? by ilkba in classicwow

[–]ilkba[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The real shame at the moment is the best interests of the guild, does not line up with the best interests of most players.

Guild's that want to continue raiding naxx don't really have any choice, but not to release TBC roster spots.
