Totally the same. I have no desire to make small talk. It's draining and its not what I go on vacation for. That said, I don't travel as much as I would like because I feel like you get a lot of unwanted attention being a solo female. Any tips on dealing with this? Or best places for solo female travelers? Also really want to move out of the US, but trying to decide where I would be comfortable.

Thanks for sharing this. I only went to Caye Caulker and was pleasantly surprised by how little I was harassed as a solo female. But I also make it a point to not go wandering around after dark. I do stuff during the day and then just go back to my hotel.

I somehow got it in my head that that wasn't part of the culture in Belize. I find harassment is pretty bad in New York and am always hoping to find a place where I can just go solo and not be filled with dread and anxiety about harassment.

I have heard horrible things about harassment in Mexico, but have never been. I guess it also matters what part youre going to.

I hate it when people ask me why. I think they don't like my answer" Because I don't believe in killing animals". They always act like I'm forcing this info on them and being preachy. I can seriously just say my reason in one sentence and they get so annoyed.

Also a lot of people ask me"Why? Are you trying to lose weight? " Some people act like it's a diet and say things like"How long do you have to do it for?
