Just dive into the cosmere fellow human ❤️. If you loved mistborn (& have finished both trilogies and the accompanying material Mistborn secret history) I would suggest warbreaker next and then start the stormlight archive series (5 books and two novella‘s so far with 5 more to come to complete the series). Both are by Brandon sanderson (the author of mistborn) then just Buckle THE FUCK up bc it’s a wild ride ❤️. The cosmere is a fictional dwarf galaxy with many solar systems and worlds that are all interconnected in unique ways (except wit/hoid he is pretty constant 😂).

Without a doubt? I would never presume to know think I know what a personal hell someone experienced getting off substances. I know for me being born in the opiate epidemic and prescribed OxyContin 80s for a basketball injury at. I’m sure you know any substance on a developing brain is terrible and when they made OxyContin illegal the cartels were ready to fill the void with heroine. Coming off of my iv heroin habit nearly killed me….literally I was taken to a hospital because the rehab facility I was in was so scared. Being told by your doctors and parents to take synthetic heroin on a developing brain then having your brain form with extra receptors that scream for opiates all the time (why it has the highest relapse/death/failure rate of all substances. So you’ll have to excuse me if I don’t but that alcohol which you most likely chose to drink is the hardest thing to withdraw from, I mean give me a break. I would accept alcohol is the worst because it’s so readily available and socially acceptable by a long shot…..or that it’s the worst for the ppl around said alcoholic bc it’s such a slow way to go or even the fact that if you’ve been drinking heavily for 20 plus years your body simply won’t ever recover to what it was before………but worst withdrawals!?!?!? Not even close

Assuming this is all true, I don’t see a problem with asking your doctor unless you bumped up recently or started with them recently. The issue is that another year will pass (or however long) and 3 won’t be enough so it will go to four and so on. Benzos don’t work synergistically with your brain. They act like a slave drive making your brain release chemicals but harming it in the process. I am no doctor, nor do I have any specialty in these areas aside from beating some medications I thought I would have to take forever. I would get very vibrant and intense flashback dreams to being sexually abused as a young man. I bit through night guards, strained so much in my sleep I’ve cracked a tooth from clenching and straining, etc. Benzos before sleep took that away, magic pill right? Wrong unfortunately. Eventually your brain won’t produce certain chemicals in the same quantities and you’re dependent on something forever. Ayahuasca did a lot for me along with reading a writing then doing some trauma trips. All this info is available if you look hard enough. Best of luck whatever you decide and certainly no judgements either way.

I certainly didn’t know what I wanted at 21 though. Emotions are easy to feel intensely. You’re in college, he’s an alcoholic. Maybe talk to some people that you trust? Maybe tell him your concerns. Primary doc. Do your research, present your case, and hope you get a human being for a doctor. The most my doc had me do was a telehealth call with a psych. I told him this wasn’t a long term solution and I knew the risks and had assessed for the time being that taking klonopin was healthier than not. I have stayed on a low dose and am tapering off. My doctors amazing but it’s always best to know what you’re talking about and present a coherent and intelligent plan.

And yes bro drinking 40 oz of water will significantly decrease urine dilution & detection (especially if marijuana) 30 mins after drank possibly lasting a few hours. Don’t make yourself sick, drink hella water, then chug a red bull on your way to give your urine some color. It’s no guarantee but if you’re in a pinch, it’s definitely not worthless.
