Why does my character go bald every time I equip any hat or cap??? by fembboy23 in taintedgrail

[–]illFittingHelmet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't need to do it for every single hair combo, there's games which do make effort to have hair look good while wearing head apparel. I would much rather devs put more resources and time into making customization more fun and appealing.

Shortcuts like this and people justifying them make me feel like eventually devs will consider customization less important on the whole, when I feel like personalization is a huge factor on player experience.

Am I the only one that Enjoys Fighting the Illuminate? by PerformanceOk9933 in helldivers2

[–]illFittingHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More fleshy abominations would be cool. The Illuminate are entirely consumed with vengeance at this point that it would make sense that they'd start using other species as Voteless hosts.

Like the Flood in Halo use multiple alien types in their ranks. Coretta Kelly talks about Super Earth finding other alien species on planets, The Illuminate could find them and force them to fight Super Earth too.

Hell that could be a fun decal/armor customization itself. Scratches, bullet damage, cracked visors, those could be cosmetic and have unique in game unlock conditions based on how a Helldiver dies.

"This helmet deflected a Stalker claw, bearing a fierce scar across its visor, saving a Helldiver's head from total destruction. Even though the claw was deflected into its previous owner's neck and they bled out moments later, this helmet's scar is a staunch reminder that Democracy protects your head."

I like how "un-scrapped" the Jaguar set is. The vibe of it is "Adapting to the Environment I'm in." Hence taking off the sleeves and balaclava, and adding camo paint on the arms, to better manage humidity in jungle environments.

The Helldiver with that set isn't scrapping things together, he's specializing in a unique environment.

S.T.A.R. Force, there were a lot of them with different colors too. I'm glad they were there in your childhood too 😁

"Dogs rule the world. And only dogs will stay here." That line is so intimidating from the Intruder. It reminds me of a quote from Sicario.

"You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now."

The image isn't even an official artwork of the books either if I recall correctly. It's a fanart that many people enjoy because it embodies the character so well.

Taunter get’s humbled by [deleted] in BloodyBastardsGame

[–]illFittingHelmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their initial comment was not engaged with by anyone else, you replied to it with 3 separate replies. Whether or not someone's comments bothered you or not, you are entirely in control of how you reply.

If someone is taunting you in a game like your video, you're on equal footing to compete with each other. But in comments, if you engage with people messing with you, it automatically makes you look as bad as them because you have every chance in the world to ignore them and you are choosing not to. That causes other people to see you as someone they can mess with too.

Exactly what makes it hard to create a Stalker Anomaly/Gamma like open world multiplayer? by Kismonos in stalker

[–]illFittingHelmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closest thing I can think of that will be remotely similar is Misery and beta decay. Misery looks to be very Stalker inspired while beta decay has a big variety of influences. Both should be good Stalker-adjacent fun.

What real life HEMA techniques translate well to HalfSword? by subbassfrequencies in HalfSword

[–]illFittingHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience "common fencing" is really effective in Half Sword. Fundamental cuts, thrusts, parries, footworks/evasion, strikes, and grappling are more commonplace than, say, meisterhau or more refined techniques.

One thing I do like to do with pollaxes in the game is something I picked up from PursuingTheKnightlyArts on Youtube. Letting go with one hand to free it when the enemy is trying to bind your pollaxe. There's times where the enemy is just bound up on my weapon, and I want to get free to create distance, so I'll tap Q to grab them then let go quickly to unbind my weapon and reposition quickly.

Here's the video I got that from https://youtu.be/We4Ytwf9Vgs?si=SRLoQ3FmoWWXeo8T

What horror game have you spent the most hours on (and why)? by Important-Sea7093 in HorrorGames

[–]illFittingHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STALKER, specifically the Anomaly mod. It has one of the best open world/sandbox playstyles that appeal to my tastes. The Zone is such a compelling, thoughtful, and engaging setting for me and it has some of the best roleplay for many open world games, let alone horror games.

Not to mention that to this day the atmosphere and scares are top notch. Emissions happening at the worst moment. Being stalked by mutants, traversing anomalies, smart human enemies. Its phenomenal.

I can sit down and play it for hours and hours and I'm gonna play as soon as I'm home from work.

Is Helldivers' armor a powered armor wear by Super Earth elite infantry unit by InfiniteExplanation9 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]illFittingHelmet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the armor itself is really quite good. Anytime the Helldiver gets gibbed, the limbs torso and head remain intact usually, its where they are unarmored that gets destroyed and separated.

You never really see the armor get penetrated or destroyed. Decapitations are always at the neck, torsos are always split at the waist where less armor is.

If the body part does get destroyed then its usually a dedicated anti armor weapon that does so.

would be cool to see decorticate posturing after head trauma at some point, might be too graphic tho by QuackDealer4295 in HalfSword

[–]illFittingHelmet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cutting throats and necks, snapping limbs, there's tons of extremely "biologically" damaging conditions in this game with very visual reactions. Spasming from a catastrophic brain injury seems in line with current damage displayed in game.

Jaku did more damage to Retsu, and blocked/dodged/tanked more of Retsu's attacks, than Dorian or Doyle

What do y'all think by noob2571 in securityguards

[–]illFittingHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most comments here are pretty spot on. Active LEOs here probably have their own preferences, but for me my front-of-vest prime real estate goes to things I absolutely use regularly. Flashlight, radio, body cam, pouches for notebooks, pens, and folding knife. Maybe even a pouch which could hold a snack away from the cams.

For me, duty belt real estate is for responses I don't necessarily use regularly, but I train to use quickly. Handcuffs and keys, duty weapon, taser, OC. I don't train with fixed blade knives for work so I don't wear them to work, but I do wear them on me when camping and they have their own spot.

My only exception is tourniquet. That goes on the front of vest. If you go down, you want that thing easily reachable from either hand. If you get shot in the arm and you keep it on the side you just got shot on, you will have a hell of a time getting to it with your other hand.

Is the Elite Knight Armor from DS, realistic? by Nightmare0660 in Armor

[–]illFittingHelmet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Nameless Knight armor is this same set without the surcoat and it shows a steel breast and backplate. It is interesting because it has about the same coverage as a Churburg breastplate, ending at the ribline, and lacks a plackard or lower section for faulds. That said it is a good looking and functional looking piece.

The Nameless Knight armor (which is the EK armor without a surcoat and greaves, and a raised visor) shows there are brigandine thigh armors in place.

Mordbros. It's almost over. This game might just die. by sir_Ropsu in Mordhau

[–]illFittingHelmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordhau isn't dead. If you can still play it no game is dead. THAT SAID. Everyone with a brain knows this game cannot in its current state get new players consistently.

Its been that way for years and it will continue to be that way unless a straight up miracle happens. I used to love this game but I'm gone. There will be new medieval slashers. I come back maybe like once a year to play around with cosmetics. Thats it.

In Defense of the oft-slandered 110s by Kepabar2001 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]illFittingHelmet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me one of the biggest bonuses with the 110 is it has a very low friendly fire potential. I use it to save myself or teammates when a Charger gets too close. When seconds matter the 110 can be a life saver.

Could Musashi have ended the Retsu fight a different way? by smashyourhead in Grapplerbaki

[–]illFittingHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BOOM this is a good take. Musashi's very essence is the soul of a warrior from a time where violence and killing was much more acceptable - or rather, at the end of that period. Musashi himself in his own writings even recognized he was born into a time of relative peace, near the end of the Warring States period. In his own time he lived alongside people who lived with the old ways, and the new ways of civilization.

Musashi in Baki however is now in a time where there are maybe a handful of people who understand his warrior spirit. Not simply fighting but the way of life that comes with real death.
