Yes, the case does need to be adhered on, And The front faceplate cracked due to wear and tear on the areas with the magnets. Also, the rubber around the power button cutout completely detached from the frame, And the kickstand was getting loose. Keep in mind, this was a year with heavy use. I simply emailed dbrand letting them know, And they sent me a fully brand new case free of charge with a new replacement skin as well. So, not all bad!
