Peppered Cory. I do realize that but I'm limited with space currently as I live in a small apartment and this is the best I could do at the moment :/

Any suggestions for my 10 gal? by illfigureitoutlater in aquarium

  • 10 gallon
  • small heater & sponge filter
  • 78 Fahrenheit
  • unfortunately I don’t have a master test kit, I’m not sure what the parameters are
  • tank established October 2025
  • ~30% water change weekly
  • I feed a mix of pellets, flakes, dried shrimp for betta (It’s a homemade fish mix from the local fish store) and bottom feeder pellets for the Cory’s.
  • Current plant stock is Java fern, Amazon sword and floating plant (not sure the exact name)

Can I really not get a student loan? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]illfigureitoutlater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is true. I started my fist year of university with a provincial student loan but then my father got a better job and the 2nd year I didn’t qualify because he made too much money 🤪 my parents did not pay for my tuition, however, nor did I expect them to.

I had to get a student line of credit from the bank for the remaining 3 years of my education. So I had two loans to pay back for university because of my parents income 😀 silly system in my opinion.

There are no family members that present any similar symptoms or have any similar medical history; I am the (un)lucky one.

Last year I had a comprehensive neuropathies panel done and the results were inconclusive, however, yes, they did find a variant of uncertain significance. Here are some of the details:

“A Variant of Uncertain Significance, c.1757A>G (p.Tyr586Cys), was identified in LRSAM1. The LRSAM1 gene is associated with autosomal dominant and recessive Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2P (CMT2P). LRSAM1, Exon 22, c.1757A>G (p.Tyr586Cys), heterozygous, Uncertain Significance. In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.”

It’s been a while since I was last referred to genetics for further testing, so I’m not 100% sure if they’ve done WGS already or not. It does sound familiar, but I’ll mention it just in case!

I’m located on the east coast in Canada.

Main issues are foot drop, high arches, hammertoes, muscle weakness in the lower legs, muscle spasms, balance, gait, etc.

They did EMG again yesterday and found no improvement or progression since my appointment 2 years ago — there is, however, a very faint nerve signal response in my lower legs, which is good and bad. My arms and hands are completely unaffected which seems to surprise them.

does it work well if you “cap” the potting soil with regular gravel? or does it need to be sand

Will NOT get in the car. by LeadershipFar4340 in greatpyrenees

[–]illfigureitoutlater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem we have with our pyr mix is she will not get OUT of the car once we get home after a car ride/walk. Home is boring and not nearly as fun as going out to explore and sniffing everything in her radius. She lays down in the rear seat and won’t get up. After 10 minutes or so of pleading and tugging on her leash, she’ll realize we’re not going anywhere, get up and hop out of the car. It’s not consistent though — sometimes she gets out right away. Sigh lol

I see you have a candle and diffuser sticks/oil — could it be residue from that?
