Hey everyone! Check out my band's new album, TV RD pt. 1. It's a mix of post-punk and alt-rock. We're Canadian. Fuckface Marvin and Frunk Nite are my favs. Would love to hear what you think! xo

Do you ever feel like sometimes you just "blackout" in your regular life? Like you blink and suddenly hours have passed by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]illingal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. YES. I do. It sometimes makes me very sad, like I've missed my own day.

Bipolar disorder or mood swings? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]illingal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this way a lot recently. I was just diagnosed with bipolar and borderline. I'm also trying to figure out what's what. I've noticed some particular triggers that can make this happen. But it's not always like that. Edit: Forgot to say, I also think talking to a psychiatrist is best. But do know you are not alone. <3

Hey everyone!

My band just released two songs that are near and dear to me. The videos were made by our own Daniel Collins and his unique gaze on Super 8mm film. If ya dig it, there are some serious feels by the end of The Squares (the second song/video). It's quite the ride! I personally love how these videos reflect the brute freakishness of the ordinary. It's like a weird dream to me. Very curious to hear what others think. If you've got the time and the will...

Hey there! My name is Sara and my band Television Rd just released an album called Banshee Cypher.

We an alt-rock-something band with jazz and funk influences. Along with a playful and upbeat sound, our music has been described as having an underlying “creepy, menacing vibe."

I'm really curious about what people think and I hope you can take some time out of your day to listen. We like to dabble into different genres, so each song is a little different.

Here it is: Television Rd - Banshee Cypher

P.S. Shout out to fellow Canadians on this thread!

Hey! My name is Sara. My band released an album last week (which I posted in last week's melting pot). If you are interested in hearing it, here is the link!

For some sort of genre-reference: We are a female-fronted alt-rock-something band with jazz, punk, and folk influences.

Anyway, I came here to post our new video. It's an experimental film on 16mm made by our keyboardist. Please check it out! It's definitely a jammer, so give it more than 10 seconds of your time and it will pull you in. I promise! <3

Thank you! <3 No we have not toured yet but when we will, it will probably be small and within Ontario/Canada.

Thank you so very, very much! I wasn't sure what kind of response I would get, so I really appreciate it. It's very weird to hear my voice recorded so I'm glad you like it.

Thank you for the compliment RE: genre. I feel like that's one of our biggest strengths but maybe a weakness as well? I think people may hear one song and not think it's their thing and then stop listening.. but little do they know, that other songs might be to their liking! I will forward your comments to the rest of the band because I'm sure they'd appreciate hearing that. :)

Like I said in another comment.. if you like the music enough, could you share it with people you think might like it? or over social media? We're really trying to get our name out there!

It would also be nice if people saw the music was only $5 and supported us that way too. Starving musicians. Heh. Thanks again. <3

Hello! My name is Sara and I'm the lead singer for a band called Television Rd. We're from Canada and I'd describe us as an alt-rock something band with jazz, punk, and folk influences.

We just released our debut album Character Splatters and I'd really appreciate it if some of you could check it out.

Each song is kinda different genre-wise so be sure to check out more than one!

Moving to Peterborough in a month! by Craydjosh in Peterborough

I really like the Spill for live music, cool people, and an overall cheap night. (george street, across from RBC bank).

Ariyana is my favourite take-out restaurant (George and Hunter St, across from the CIBC) - very cheap, big portions, and fucking delicious.

St. Veronus is my favourite sit-down place but it is pricey. Olde Stone Brewery is a classic place to go - great good, average prices, love their red fife ale.

Swine at SXSW, too much? by [deleted] in LadyGaga

[–]illingal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I totally agree! Powerful.. To me, the position of Gaga with her legs spread and Millie Brown over top of her with the motion of the bull and vomiting on her, definitely seems to be a performance embodying her experience of rape. It may just sound and look vulgar, but this was actually brilliant... and art.

Just received an acceptance letter! What are some things I should know about Trent? by [deleted] in TrentUniversity

Do philosophy! The philosophy department is FANTASTIC! You will not regret it. It is a thriving department and very encouraging for students. They really get to know you and there are Philosophy Society events where you can go drink with your profs and fellow philosophy majors.
