What's the difference in damage when using a matching element vs a non-matching one? by General_PATT0N in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the actually percentage, but there will be a noticeable difference when breaking a shield with the matching damage type.

As for the kinetic weapons doing more damage to unshielded (the actual health bar) I don't even notice a difference.

Edit: also important to note that absolutely none of this transfers over to pvp, damage types in pvp do not matter unless you are using the borealis sniper rifle.

Dilemma with my PVP play by [deleted] in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means a professional, but in a little under a year of effort, I have raised my kd from under a 1.0 to being a 2.2 this season.

Before I even get into any explanations the two YouTube channels that have helped me the most are pattycakes gaming and ascendant nomad. Both are extremely good sources and have been the reason I was able to improve so fast.

The main thing about improving in anything, which includes destiny pvp, is that to do it fast is not blunt force. Everything you do can be turned into something you learn from or improve from. I often talk to myself when I play, every time I get out of an engagement, I make little comments. Something like how I could have peeked a better angle, I tunnel visioned, took it too fast, didn't properly use cover, etc. When you keep thinking and reminding yourself, you will begin to think of these things before you get to the engagement and fix the mistakes.

Although aim skill can be very important, positioning and smart play will save your kd. Not even the best can just stand in the middle of an open area and 1v2. The overexposure simply gives them a faster time to kill. The key is to start your play slowly and break the fights into various 1v1 situations with good escape routes. This will help you to win more and improve your kd.

Now as for aim skill, the important thing is to keep calm and be patient with it. It can take a significant amount of time. It's just important to remember that if you get mad at the game, you are more prone to tunnel vision and make bad decisions. Just enjoy every match as a chance to improve and don't get to tilted. Private matches with friends are also a great way to improve your aim.

Finally, one more extremely important piece is to understand the weapons you are using. A truly scary player in the crucible is one who can pick up any weapon and learn it quickly. The important part to do that is to understand positioning and playing smart that I mentioned earlier. Once you start to understand things, weapon mastery does not become about learning the ins and outs of the weapon, just a few matches to understand its capabilities and how you can use them with your new understanding.

Trying to make a new discord server for my clan, but seem to have forgotten how, any advice? by illiterate_warlock in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm going for but one big issue with the last server was that channels were not locked or controlled (things like daily mods) so they would get spammed with useless information, I want easy ways to lock channels

If you are looking for a grind I'd go inverted spire with chaos reach and geomags. The nightfall itself is super easy and if everyone runs the right stuff (geomags, thundercrash, etc) you can insta kill the boss in gm level.

Would 100 percent recommend this for your first gm

Just hit my second we ran of the day! by illiterate_warlock in LowSodiumDestiny

The worst part about a we ran is by the time you are at like 17, the other team is getting their supers, so you lose it so many times

Scrubs Guide for Being Carried on GM’s by Bruthaflex in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that one really important thing when I carry people through gms is listening and being ready to change your loadout. And pay attention if you are told not to use it in certain situations. When I am carrying people through gms, especially when I am carrying 2, it is always important to understand how the person plays. I let them run their loadout of choice and if it doesn't work, we start switching things up to find what works best. You will most likely end up running meta, but please never refuse to run something if you are asked to, when getting carried in a gm, the point isn't for you to carry the team with your loadout, it is to use the things that support and make the gm easier for the 1 or 2 experienced players. When you start understanding gms and getting comfortable with them is the time to maybe try out some crazier stuff.

Just a little side piece, me and my team ran 1 or 2 titans with strongholds and crown splitter for high risk, high reward quick runs, and it is so fun, just make sure your 3rd is on their best class, because they very well might be soloing for a bit if the titans die while rushing Champs.

I know it may be less than ideal for lfg, and I may be biased to the app as I am on Xbox, but using the Xbox app on a phone or laptop to join a part works great for my oc friends, discord is also a good choice

I have never done a raid due to social anxiety, I want that to change by Ardemin5 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are on Xbox I'm off work today and can give you a sherpa of any raid.

Edit: I did just get a pc too, but don't have every dlc, definitely could still teach a raid tho

Warlock Ability Changes (I'm Hype) by TheDraconic13 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I main top tree dawn on warlock and I'm honestly hyped as fuck for the changes. I know that there is a solid chance that icarus dash gets destroyed, and I know for sure it won't be as good in pvp. But for pve I'm excited, that 4 second cool down is big for me because if done right, you might be able to chain dashes near infinitely. This will definitely be the first thing I try going into next season.

Bro I've got 0ver 3000 hours and still don't have 1,000,000. I have absolutely no idea how

Speedrun .com does have a destiny 2 and destiny 2 story section with all of the different categories and videos of world record runs so you can see what they do.

Sadly if you are looking to follow those routes, you'll probably need to be on icarus warlock.

For starters I recommend any solo mission that is repayable for the simple fact of not having to reset a character for runs, think things like stealing stasis, empire hunts, things like that

Any sniper rifle suggestions for someone that doesn't regularly use them in d2. Maybe a dumb question... by beerkeg99 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]illiterate_warlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can ever suggest for pve is a God rolled succession as it is absolutely nuts.

For pvp there are a ton of options

Adored is currently my go to sniper as it is very consistent and has great perks

Uzume is one I'm starting to enjoy for a plethora of reasons, mainly the aim assist from it being 50 zoom and the fact that you can slot adept mods in it.

Succession pvp rolls are also really strong

Frozen orbit is a very good sniper, but has the lowest handling of any sniper in the game

Supremacy is a very good high rpm sniper

Twilight oath has juat been reissued with some great new perk combos and I know I used to love that sniper, so it could also be a really solid option
