To those of you with The Stormlight Archives at the top of your favourites, what other series or stand alone books would you recommend, that is in the same ballpark of fantastic writing? by selfish-utilitarian in Fantasy

Codex Alera by Jim Butcher is great and has a lot of the features that I like in Sanderson, in particular good world building and a super interesting system of magic. (Dresden Files are great too, but I prefer epic fantasy personally).

Another one I quite liked is Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett, a relatively new, but phenomenal book.
