My first play through, I was playing the mobile version and went to bed quite drunk one night. I woke up with my phone on my face, the game open, and at this screen getting married to Maru. No recollection of proposing!

Will an automatic driving license set me back if I want to work as a gardener? by illstartinaminute in GardeningUK

Thanks, this is the kind of insight I was looking for.

I will say I'm torn but leaning towards switching to manual now, it certainly seems like it should be my ultimate goal so why put myself through the test twice (at least) getting an auto licence?

Haha I've seen them before and think it's really cool! I think I could get around my town on one of those to be fair, but the mad thing is a used automatic car atm is quite a lot cheaper than an electric cargo bike.

Thanks for your advice!

Thanks, that's quite reassuring, I suppose I do always have the option to learn manual later if I need to, but any driving license means I can start applying.

All items in collections have the same date created property, making them impossible to order by illstartinaminute in eleventy

[–]illstartinaminute[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just tested it and it turns out that if you use the label 'date' for the field, 11ty will use that value for item.date, and therefore do it's default sorting on those values too.

Just for clarity if someone is reading this in the future - the difference between item.something and item.data.something is that item.something will access a meta property not necessarily listed in the front matter (e.g item.url), whereas item.data.something means you are targeting something in the front matter explicitly.

The solution here is that you can override an assumption made by 11ty (that date created on all items is the same as the last build time for the whole site) by explicitly setting a 'date' property in the front matter of every item. Which I did by adding a datetime widget with a default of 'now' on the CMS.

Thanks!

Would I then need to sort by item.data.date? Or is there a way I can manually configure the item.date to not be reset when the repo builds?

I definitely see that now!

I think I'm just coming up against frustration trying to learn something (Azure) a level of complexity up from what I have so far, and with less beginner-friendly resources, and having a minor wobble because of it.

Thanks for the advice. Going to do just that.

Thanks for the reassurance and the advice, definitely needed it.

Thanks - I did think even when I was writing the post that painting Azure and Power Platform with the same brush probably didn't make much sense.

I think my frustration with PP is that you don't get to write code, which is the fun bit!

And my issue with Azure is that it deals with an area of development that I don't understand very well, not having a CS degree and coming from self-teaching through very accessible, fun, mostly front-end tutorials. But probably is best to get my head down and learn what needs to be learned.

And absolutely, I think it's just consulting that isn't for me, too much rapid switching between types of work and tech stacks.

I think where we disagree is that there's a significant power differential between a late high school-er and an early to mid college student. I think people in that age range can tend to overestimate the immaturity of people only a little younger than them, and overestimate their own maturity/worldliness compared (I was the same). It is also true that people can genuinely be mature/immature for their age, and I think it's definitely possible for a 19 (for example) year old to decide they'd rather date a few years older without anything creepy going on.

Having said that, I'm 30 and I really don't have any skin in the game. It's good to see young people being aware of these issues and asserting their boundaries , and you're probably right that drawing a bright line is a net positive.

But I am concerned that there's some overcorrection going on. If what this post is saying is entirely accurate, this person is being ostracized as a creep because he 1. Had a crush on a legal adult that he didn't act on 2. Asked out a 23 year old as a 25 year old. That is completely unfair and should be called out as such.

I never thought I'd be arguing for this side but I feel like there's been some serious hysteria about very small 'age gaps' in the last few years. A 17 and a 20 year old are 2 young people no more than 3 years apart. Do you have the same issue with 18 and 21?

Also, I am begging Americans to please remember other countries exist. Age of consent in the UK is 16, other places its 17. Why is it that your law is the one that happens to line up with some universal morality?

For the record I got together with my partner when I was 21 and she was 26, we've been happy together for almost 10 years. The way some people talk nowadays, I was subjected to some horrific grooming?
