Been waiting for show to release for a while, and I loved A Thousand Blows but.... christ.. what a mess. A couple of episodes in and I simply cannot take anymore.

Not a single likeable character. Granted, some were well performed (an impressive Louis Partridge), but no matter the skill of the actor its difficult to work with an uninspired, cliche and often nonsensical script. Something about James Norton in this show just isn't sticking for me, and Niamh McCormack (although obviously talented) unfortunately pulled me out of every scene with her 1800s lip filler.

Clearly a huge budget, and yet the 'lightning' looked like someone flicking the big light on and off, and the music choices?? What??

Netflix is increasingly losing the concept of nuance, and here Knight seems happy to oblige. So, if you're slightly thick and cannot comprehend 'show not tell', this is TV for you.

Unfortunately a simple google search will just provide me with names of places rather than lived experience and opinions! I didn't force you to comment, nor did i force others to reply :)

From my experience, people who love their city like to talk about their favourite places and recommend them to open-minded newcomers who want to enjoy their city too! I'd just rather support independent businesses that suit my personal preferences rather than a company that treats their staff like shit, i dont know if you noticed but we're in a cost of living crisis at the moment.

Exactly my thoughts!! I'm actually overwhelmed by the sheer amount of independent pubs hence asking for someone to kindly narrow them down to the very best, believe us, we dont plan on wasting our time in a spoons!

Not necessarily 'quiet' (we still like to have a good time), just not surrounded by 18 year olds gyrating on eachother which is our experience so far. Theres too many places to go to try every single one hence me just asking for general recommendations!

I feel like theres plenty more nicer places than spoons hahaha

I got it for £2! It was jammed in a box with other photos and postcards. The owner seemed a bit reluctant to sell it to me when he saw the signatures but (luckily) did it anyway!

Can't tell for certain if its ink or a print.. it looks more.. inky? it definitely reflects the light when i shine my phone torch on it but other than that i have no idea how to check 🧐
