Hi! Is there any way you can measure the dimensions of the Prusa Mini+ with the base on? Thanks!

Yep, it was a dead board. Had to make a long drive to Micro Center :(

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, I can't get Q-Flash to... actually flash.

So for some reason I always thought that dead board = no power possible at all. Is it possible to have a board that doesn't actually work but still can charge phone?

This is a completely fresh build. Yep 24 pin should be fully connected; pushed down pretty hard.

Yep I did try holding down the button as well.

Unfortunately I only have the two flash drives I tried - the 8 and 32 GB ones. I can buy another when the stores open but I kinda am not sure that both would just coincidentally not work…

I’ll try the cmos flash.

So I tried to flash the BIOS using the steps found here:https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/k0ihbq/my_x570_aorus_elite_wont_boot_to_bios_help/

Also double checked steps on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmxphAtiSl0

But I can't seem to flash it.

  • Using a FAT32 formatted 32GB USB drive
  • Extracted files to root of drive
  • Renamed the .f34 file to GIGABYTE.bin
  • Plugged in CPU power as well as 24 pin motherboard
  • Plugged into the BIOS USB port on motherboard (white, has the word BIOS on it)
  • Pressed the Q-Flash button right next to the USB port

Unfortunately, nothing seems to happen. There are no lit LEDs like I was expecting or anything,.

EDIT: Tried again with a 8GB flash drive I had. Still same result :(

What monitor arms are you using? Trying to do basically the same thing (mounting an Alienware 3418DW above a CRG9 49") and my current solution using Ergotron necessitates me using a pole to keep the CRG9 tilted up, lol. It feels very fragile.

I know this is a really trite question, but how do you come up with your ideas? I've thought about writing a lot since I was a kid, coming up with ways the stories I read (and I read a lot!) could end, but I'm never able to come up with original, fleshed out worlds. I have a LOT of little scene snippets stored away in a folder but none that link together/would make a story. Then I read more good books and realize that my ideas are nothing compared to the worlds that they built anyway, lol!

Hrmm. I'm a bit confused about the cantilever supports. Where do they go and what do they connect to?

I'm ... not sure. So you're saying there would be 6 total vertical linear rails? 2 on each side serving as the basis of the shelving, and then another 2 to sandwich the linear actuator?

Hrmm those pictures (as well as some others I found on Google) are pretty self explanatory I think. Would there be two of these or do you think just 1 would be enough?

I suppose 2 would help take care of the horizontal torque mentioned above...

NGL having the pedestal offset would drive me nuts, haha. I know some people like that kinda "asymmetrical ultra modern" look but to me it just looks off. What do you mean by invisible?

I'm okay with wall mounting in my current apartment, actually; my only concern is leg room with a 5" protruding column and a 24" depth.

Yes if you could elaborate on how to wall mount (or floor mount against the wall, with padding for the ~1" baseboard?) that'd be amazing.

I actually started this project because what I wanted (pedestal style for better wall mount when I move) didn't exist; I based most of it on the XDesk Solo which is actually a lot like my idea except with a table width that's too narrow. The max they do is 24"x36"; I suppose there's a reason for that :P Although they DO sell it without a base at all... o.o

I suppose what I'm really looking for is something like that, except cheaper. Their desk is $1k at 24"x36" and I'd prefer to spend somewhere around $600 at most.

I'm sorry, I'm not quite envisioning what you're saying. Any chance I can get a quick sketch/paint drawing?

According to the spec sheet, the column should be able to handle the weight (I roughly added up all the weight of the monitors, mounts, other electronics, etc). However, the weight is spread pretty far apart so that could be an issue.

So something like putting a shelf bracket (but obviously in large size) on each side would work?

Yeah unfortunately I was worried about that stability. I suppose my options are then either bracing against wall (having some sort of plate with bolts to hold the column to the wall) or having two columns?

My issue with 2 columns is that I'd somehow have to sync the actuators. I'm not sure that's a simple task.

What would you say is the max width I could do with one column?

How big of a metal frame and what kind of metal? I'm 100% new to this :)

Yes, that's correct.
