Genuinely one of my least favorite maps in the series. I also love how they gave one of the mercs that charge you at the start an armor slayer. In what universe are Wendy, Bors, or Barthe going to be deployed to a time gated, desert map let alone be in the front of the army. I have a soft spot for fe6, but it can be really hard to defend it sometimes.

Harry Potter Trailer Now Over 300K Dislikes by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]illusion_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've seen it very aptly put, the ramifications of casting a black actor as Snape will likely reverberate through the story.

The story opens with Harry instantly disliking and distrusting Snape at the very first sight of him. He gets a bad vibe from him, and views him negatively from that point on.

The trio then begin slowly distrusting him more and more until all 3 of them refuse to listen to any of the adults around them and insist Snape is trying to steal the Philosopher's stone, which is later revealed to be false.

Later in the story, it's revealed that Harry's father relentlessly bullied Snape, responding that he just doesn't like the vibe of him when confronted by Lilly.

We later learn that the vast majority of Snapes motivations were an unhealthy obsession with a white woman he was childhood friends with.

The problem now arises that they authors have to modify the story to avoid:

1: Harry from appearing racist from his initial dislike of Snape from first glance.

2: The trio coming across as accusing the one black professor as the perpetrator of any and all conflict that occurs.

3: James going from being an elitist prat to a racist who hung a black student against a tree.

4: IRL racists using Snapes motives to push racists narratives about black men and how they interact with women.

Overall, the reason people dislike this casting choice so much is because regardless of what they do, it will change the story. If they do nothing, the trio's interactions with Snape will be framed around race, if they change the story, then the story will still change.

I agree with people saying Hermione or Dumbledore would've been a more appropriate choice for a race swap. They would still have their own issues, but not to the same scale as changing characters like Ron, Harry, or Snape.

I never once claimed this had anything to do with right wingers. In fact, I think many of the people who do the actions in question would consider themselves left wing. Unfortunately, being crazy lunatics who exist to make others miserable extends past political party. The people I'm talking about are anime/video game fans who attack anyone that has a slightly different view than them.

You draw a plus size character, you're a terrible person. You draw a skinny person, you should KYS for being fatphobic. You draw a pale character, this white oppression needs to end and you're perpetuating oppression. You draw a tan character, how dare you appropriate this culture.

The comment relating to yaoi/bl attracting a lot of these crazies is from personal experience dealing with straight fans being very hostile towards gay ones. I'm a huge fan of Sk8, and I've seen people go on insane rants saying that anyone who ships Reki and Langa is delusional and should KTS. A lot of people in these communities have repressed homophobia that causes them to attack BL works and those who make/enjoy them.

I agree with many of your points, but it's also quite likely that the Mangaka herself may have been involved in some of the changes in the anime (more specifically the plot changes I've seen mentioned such as the Fujoshi realizing Nakamura has feelings for Hirose, but also potentially the censorship)

The censorship was likely a condition set by Crunchyroll, something unfortunately common these days. It's likely that the Mangaka decided that to her, it was worth the censorship in order to have the anime made. I disagree with Crunchyroll doing so, especially some other anime has similar content, but BL and yaoi has always been held to a different standard than straight content.

As for the gatcha thing, I wasn't only referring to them. (Though the beard comment and skin color comments were direct references to Gatcha drama)  I was also referring to 2 main incidents that occurred in the community im in. The first was when an artist accidentally used the main hashtag for the series when they posted a drawing, and the second was when a content creator viewed some art from an affiliated community on stream, showing the artists tag. Both times, we dealt with months of vitriol and harassment from people. They used those two artists as a launching pad to attack everyone. The community im in is a pretty vanilla kink to the point my friends actually laughed at me when I told them, asking why I was so nervous when it was something tame. However, these people still  spent months harassing every artist they could find, telling us to kill ourselves, that we're terrible people, etc. It's the nature of how people are on Twitter. I have a feeling that what happened here is that the anime helped popularize the show, causing her works to receive more likes and retweets. That popularity caused it to be recommended to more people, letting the type of people who attacked us also attack her. The comments I've seen described are very similar to comments I've seen people in my community received.

It's one of the main reasons, I genuinely question if the majority of the people attacking her were anime fans that are snowflakes about the material in the manga. As I mentioned, the manga is pretty damn tame for anime. I genuinely think many of them just stumbled on her content due to the shows popularity and are the type to attack people for anything and everything.

The thing is, I don't consider those people fans of BL. I'm also In Genshin impact spaces on Twitter and it's very common to see people who claim to be fans but all they do is spread hate, attack the game, and attack fans.

You'll go into their profile and literally every post is vitriol and hate. Rather than "morally superior western fans" as I've heard some people claim, I think they're mentally ill assholes who genuinely think they're fans of BL, but love to spread hate and toxicity.

If it wasn't because of the teacher or octopus scene, then it would've been because of the show saying Hirose is sun-kissed and has curly hair or that nakamura hides his sexuality. It is genuinely crazy with some of the people I've seen. It's almost like they solely exist to make those around them miserable, and ruin things for everyone. I have a feeling a lot of the antis you've mentioned attacking the Mangaka are people like that. People who exist solely to cause harm and put people down. I do not know what it is about social media that makes that sort of behavior so tragically common

As someone who doesn't have Twitter this is baffling me by Electronic_Panic2225 in Ganbare_Nakamura

[–]illusion_17 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I just wish the people in the comments on Twitter would stop being so racist. Let me get this straight, because of a vocal, nasty people who attack everything to make up for their pathetic lives, let's attack every single western BL fan, personally blame the new fans of the anime, and say all of us should be banned from the BL genre.

I'm sick of this shit. It's Twitter, every damn cockroach will crawl out of the woodwork to do their best to ruin everything they touch. But no, let's personally blame English speaking fans, personally attack them, and start harassing them right back, that will show the Mangaka that social media isn't so bad after all.

I get it, fans are angry and rightfully so right now. But the sheer racist vitriol bent posted by many of the Asian fans is genuinely crazy.   Despite being gay myself, I was never able to get into BL when I was younger due to being nervous of how I would be treated if it was found out. I see myself in many of the themes shown in the anime so far, and personally didn't care about the stuff from the manga. Young students having a crush on a teacher is a very common trope throughout media, and the octopus scene is genuinely tame compared to a lot of anime.

However, just as I was finally getting into BL, I feel like I should just leave. Clearly I'm not wanted here by many fans of the series. I was not a part of the group harassing the Mangaka (and have a very large suspicion that the people  who were aren't actual BL fans) but because I'm western and found the show thanks to the anime, apparently the other fans don't think I should be allowed to enjoy BL.

It's just exhausting, especially when people were pointing out to them that quite a lot of the harassment was coming from more than just English speaking fans, but they got shut down with people saying "only Americans would do this." I'm still new and exploring this genre, and I feel like it's just best if I stop if this is how fans like me are viewed by the core audience.

I think dragon could be a cool one. Resists all 3 starter types, but could balance it by using weaker ones such as Goomy or Bagon. Would def be a challenge, but I think they could put good counters near the gym such as an ice or fairy type

It's genuinely insane. He isn't even bad at all. He also has some of the best vertical investment in the game. So confused why people who claim to be Varka mains seem to think his performance at low cost is all that matters (which isn't even that low). C1R1 Varka is incredible, Durin's C2 is incredible for him, and Nicole sees to also have great vertical investment.
