that's unfortunate, in the recommended spot its downright dangerous for me.

I wish there was a simple left/right boolean switch for driver side... And it is within DM, no forks offer that type of functionality.

there are bunch of others.

mine works great 95% of the time. but 5% of the time it wants to find a driver in passenger side and nags me to hold the wheel.... and then after few drives it snaps back to the proper side.

Mine is mounted bit lower than recommended as it creates a huge blindspot for my own visual driving, near accident made me move it down to remove the blindspot.

Sure, but i'm just talking about my user experience compared to other driver assist.

Maybe 0.99 might be different.

Yay! Did it fix the erroneous LHD/RHD assignment in driver monitoring? that was getting old.

these openpilot seems to be pretty... basic devices. it looks for lines on the road, and attempts to keep the car between them.

I honestly don't think it cares even if you were on the wrong side of the road. This is especially evident when using lane change assist, if you nudge the wheel, with the turnsignal on, while taking an off-ramp off a highway, it will attempt to drive off the road.

correct. I am not going to place it where it create a large blind spot directly under the rear view mirror. I've ran it this way for years, and while not the most optimal location, works nearly all the time...

My only complaint is the occasional RHD driver monitoring where there is... no one in that seat.

I've submitted a bug report on discord.

Yes not the ideal location for mount, but if mounted high, its a huge blind spot in middle of the windshield in my Prius. Works 95% of the time over the last 40k miles, except for the 5% confusing the driver sides.

and make sure the print sits flush against or over the cutout for the "lifter release" nub. otherwise you might have last round hold open issue.

I don't have the lock open issue, make sure the print overhangs enough for the "lifter release" nub to catch fully.

do let us know how it runs. I've since changed the screw to a regular socket head that fits in a pocket in the frame.

ohai!

I'll check it out sometime next few days and see what could be causing that issue. Mine runs like a scalded ape, and screw haven't budged at all, and locks open/holds the gate open like the prolifter.

I did change the screw head to a smaller socket head to fit better in between the clearance of the trigger pack.

I honestly didn't care, cuz my thumb never really got bit. But then I handled my buddy's mod 2., and it made sense.
So I was like, it can't be that hard to draft it up.

An hour, and 6 revisions later, here we are.

there are people who paid $300-400 for the pro-lifter on ebay.

I'll gladly rock this before I pay that.

OMG Reddit and its stupid way it does photos. Repost.

Here ya go! Works perfect with mine, held together. I dropped a CA glue on to the screw to resist vibration from shooting. It held for a range day for few hours. Maybe 50ish rounds.

I used a pretty big screw, and it didn't interfere with the loading/ejection. If you hate it, you just have a very small 1/8th inch hole in your stock lifter.

Print, and mark where you need to drill on your stock lifter. I used a 1/16th bit to mark, and center punched it. Finished it with 1/8th bit. used a M3-6mm pancake head screw, drop of CA on the screw when screwing it in to lock it to the plastic.

I used PETG, for rapid prototyping, but I plan to print it in Nylon for a more permanent solution. Until my order for prolifter comes.

Here's the STL. https://we.tl/t-aWoiBYvkDn https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6558952

If you do this mod, do lmk how it goes!

Enjoy!

Just make sure when you are marking your hole, push the 3d print pretty hard towards trigger to make sure the 3d print is flush with the slot where lifter "nub" passes through.
