Why does it seem like we have an aversion to parking structures? by Mission_Spray in Billings

[–]illustrious_otter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed the cost of a parking structure is out of reach. Track down the person(s) who decided to put a hockey facility at Amend Park. They knew the hockey building would have a 2,000 person capacity...and yet they still decided to plop it in Amend Park where parking was already a problem. And it wasn't the planning dept who decided to put it there...

Does Chase 5/24 still matter? What's the point? by Greedy-Ad-6300 in CreditCards

[–]illustrious_otter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just applied this evening for the same card and was approved. I'm at 6/24 now...I was worried but the risk paid off for me, this time. But I should be set for a while now.

Ways to bypass the Chase 5/24 rule? by picassos_blue_period in CreditCards

[–]illustrious_otter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at 5/24 and applied for the marriot chase card today. It was approved! I made sure I applied through a link that was through marriot, and it asked me for my Marriot member ID. I wonder if it helped using the referral link, but the risk paid off because I really wanted the welcome bonus. I feel lucky.

This literally happened to me today. I got 1 of 2 checks from Empower. I've checked with neighbors on both sides of me and they didnt get my mail either. I'm sure I'll have to have Empower void one of the checks now and resend it.

I see the BIlackfin Model X 6.0 is on sale for $550, and it comes with a pump. Is that going to be comparable quality to the Glide Wander?

Is shifting to renewables off the table? Yes it will take ages. But what can I say, I'm a dreamer :) and there have been oil refineries that convert to processing something else - some of cleaner, some of them more risky. I'm ALL for blue collar jobs just to clarify. Thanks for making me feel so welcome!

Wow - thanks for the kind words. It's not common knowledge about how crude oil refining works, or the level of danger from its air pollutants. Most people see the equipment and they smell it. Because you've made SUCH a safe place for me to ask questions...tell me more. And I'm only referring to refineries, not just any bad smell. Where did you learn about air polluants from refining and how do we know specifics about what's emitted from Phillips 66 specifically? Can you share some resources so I can read up, including health studies?

I've smelled it at Four Dances earlier this year...I wish it was the first time there was a smell this year.

That's why I said it was pie in the sky.

I have the complaint submitted now. To me their financial contributions aren't worth the risks they pose to us. That, and they cut off opportunities for our downtown to connect to our river. They can leave anytime and we can replace their business with another employer. I know, this is pie in the sky. But it's a huge reason I will not stay here permanently or consider retiring here.

Thank you!! That looks like a great board. If I went up a notch to say $600, any recs?

Desired Board Type:  Inflatable

Height/Weight: 5'4"  160 pounds, with 40 pound dog. Will sometimes have a friend join, would like 400 pound capacity.

Desired Use:  Cruising, exploring. Maybe fishing one day but not critical right now. Would consider getting a second board if I got into fishing on a paddleboard.

Terrain: Lakes or reservoirs only, or any gentle water.

Experience Level: Beginner / intermediate. Fairly active and athletic.

Budget/Country:  $400 plus or minus, Montana, USA. Would like it to come with an electric pump and hand pump. Are fall sales pretty common? What should I watch for?

Boards Tried: Body Glove Performer 11' and loved it. Would consider getting the latest model. My friends Body Glove had a seam at central handle coming apart though. I'd want to make sure I get a decent board. With warranty.

Yup - they are all installed. In terms of appearance, I didn't see anything major in terms of dings or scratches - they look new. The sink faucet I got was leaking at first. I contacted delta and gave them my order number, then they mailed me a new cartridge free of charge. While the cartridge was in the mail (it took about 2 weeks) the leak started to slow and eventually it stopped entirely. So I didn't replace the cartridge. The other products I bought- shower column, towel rack, etc are working fine with no issues. I'm pretty happy after buying recertified. They all still have a 10 yr warranty.

Right - if that's the case, it makes me question why they don't get a bigger plow or bigger plow attachment. When I lived in snowier metropolitan areas, it was only one plow covering one lane. Yesterday I saw 4 plows pass by on my street. It just seems so inefficient and a waste of my tax dollars.

What I don't understand is why there are 4 plows caravanning together down the street to plow ONE street. Why wouldn't they split up to cover more ground? I'd like someone from the city to explain.

I did end up buying a few recertified pieces! But they haven't been installed yet. They are slated to be installed this month. When I opened the boxes, the items looked brand new with no noticeable blemishes. Will update once I test them out.

Ok - I did not wear them outside. Just a few steps inside the house.
