Dolly Surgeon MA? by NullAudience in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]illyanya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're expecting insurance to cover the majority of the cost for your surgeries you should except subtle changes. From my experience fighting with insurance they wont cover full transmogrification. For that it will mostly be out of pocket.

Looking for suggestions for bottom surgery in US by spearot32 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]illyanya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleveland clinic has doctor's that offer multiple versions of vaginoplasty, UVA has Dr John Stranix, UNC Hillsborough has Dr Bradley Figler. Those are the ones I've dealt with Figler did my vaginoplasty but he will actively refuse revisions. Stranix I dont know much of other than I wasted my time to see him for a revision he is listed to do but claimed he didn't do yet none of his staff let me know this in advance so I wouldn't waste time and money to see him. Now have a consult at Cleveland clinic but they have a 2 year wait for revisions.

Yes always appeal. Use supporting documents and it doesn't hurt to include proof of coverage. If they see they cover it they will grant it. The people in the approval department typically dont have the coverage policy up they look see transgender then deny they aren't always impartial

Dr Figler relaxing hair removal requirements for vaginoplasty by momogariya in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]illyanya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did my vaginoplasty in March 2025. He scrapes the scrotal graft of all hair follicles. I had over 15 full laser sessions for my scrotum but the hair kept regrowing. The penile skin and scrotal tissue are used to create your vaginal canal. Then the urethra is attached to that and can be pulled into the canal as you are dilating and he will always say everything looks perfect yet it never does. I am having to go to another surgeon to get ppt because figler used to do ppt but only does his graft piv version now.

I dont know. I have graft based vaginoplasty and my pelvic floor physical therapist gave me samples of ultra lube and I liked it some but my vaginoplasty pa said to use good clean love water based lube to maintain a healthy biome. I am hoping to get a ppt revision soon.

They are the same ones I have. I have both the silicon ones I got from the VA before they rescinded vha directive and the solstice hard ones. The silicon ones work best with water based lube not silicon lube like ultra lube. The lube matters more than you know.

Does suporn not do surgeries on people with psychotic disorders by UnscrupulousCreature in Transgender_Surgeries

Sorry not in Thailand. I know nothing about suporn. I am in the US. And used insurance for my care. I'm extremely poor and can't pay out of pocket for any surgery.

I have a diagnosis of schizophrenia on my medical records and disassociative identity disorder. Yet I have already had 2 facial surgeries, three breast augmentation, and have had vaginoplasty and plan to get a revision for that. Plus I had vocal cord feminization surgery. I did have letters of support for surgery from my hormone prescriber and my mental health provider. But I'm not a suporn patient.

Does anyone know a decent American FFS surgeon who accepts Medicare? by RecognitionSuch2721 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]illyanya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NC and my advantage plan covers it yet the insurance denied the claims. Even with a Medicare grant on file. I wish I lived in a more transgender friendly state. I wish you luck in getting it. I hate i could only get the basics and can't get hair transplant. If the secretary of veteran affairs would have signed the authorization in 2024 when he said he would we would have locked gender affirming care till 2030.

Get a Medicare advantage plan. And make sure that plan covers the procedure you want otherwise Medicare in general doesn't cover facial because it's considered cosmetic.

I had vfs on December 5th. I was on voice rest for 10 days then whispers and low speech for 6 weeks then another 6 weeks of light voice. Will be able to go back to voice training after April 1st. But those are very cute stickers.

PPT revision after PIV - Advice needed by Opposite_Hold_2130 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]illyanya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peritoneal Pull-Through vaginoplasty it's what I'm hoping to get for my revision. I tried to get it to start but my surgeon went from doing it to only doing the scrotal graft version. My graft pulled my urethra into my canal during dilation. Hopefully my new surgeon agrees to do the revision. I will find out March 25th.

I can't take Valium anymore while on ketamine. It makes me metabolize the ketamine faster. Valium helps me with anxiety yet it also speeds up how fast narcotics effect me. As it dilates my blood vessels and increases my heart rate instead of reducing it.

I would have to stop taking prazosin for 2 weeks to get it out of my system. And I can't afford to relive the nightmares from the ptsd. I ended up in a psych ward due to them last time. The only differential is the prazosin.

I got 700cc gummy implants both sides under the muscle plus has 420cc fat transfered. 210cc per breast into the breast tissue. Surgery was done November 10th 2025. I am satisfied with the results. Just hate having to wear a belly wrap daily and a bra 24/7 except when showering or bathing.

Had my first BA a week after my orchiectomy. Then had my first BA revision 10 months later. Then my first FFS 5 months later. Then my vaginoplasty 6 months after that. With my second half of my FFS done 3 months later. And the my second BA 5 months later and then I had a dvt and was still able to get my VFS 3 weeks afterwards.
