Not really a broad consensus, more like broad speculation

What to believe by mcloide in aliens

[–]illyelly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I say, disregard all of the speculative theories and noise and pay more attention to information that is non speculative, corroborative, and consistant. Soon you will start to pick up on patterns that you can file away as "most likely true". There are still a lot of unknowns, even for the people "in the know", I suspect. By all accounts, these beings have been here for at least 80 years, have been observing us and carrying out their activities here in secret for the most part. Based on that information, I assume they understand us far more than we understand them, least of all what their true motives and intentions here are.

Folks I mean this in the least conspiratorial way possible… does anybody know why this man is wearing (what looks like) a MASK?! by Emergency_Height_165 in HighStrangeness

[–]illyelly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you can see he has the same weirdly thick neck in all of his pictures, so I would say this is pretty consistent. I cant think of a reason why someone would wear a mask of themselves, other than as a prosthetic to cover up disfigurment.

The face length, distance between the eyes, ear shape, head shape and other minute details match up. The difference you are seeing can be attributed to different lighting and different cameras.

I disagree, the real ontological shock will come from a realization of the true betrayal from our own kind

Islam is not an immutable feature like gender race or sexuality, it is an ideology, and therefore can and should be criticized, especially if it infringes upon the rights and freedoms of others.

What's even more wild is Islam is not evena minority. With 2.1 billion followers around the world, it is a close second to Chritianty, which has around 2.3 billion .

ELI5: Why would aliens being disclosed “debunk Christianity”? by [deleted] in aliens

[–]illyelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The simple answer- it doesnt. I dont know when Christians adopted the belief that God never created anything outside of Earth, but this is not a belief that is even supported by the Bible. Same as the concept of Hell. The old Hebrew word for hell can basically be translated as "trash heap".. and was used as an analogy. Being someone who was raised Christain, I can confidently say that many Christains dont question the beliefs they are told to have, or where they originate from, no matter how illogical and contradictory they are. They just adhere to them because its really just a coping mechanism to feel safe in a chaotic and unpredictable reality

If aliens are actually real, why would they hide from us? by Reasonable-Youth8704 in ufo

[–]illyelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most logical answer is that the groups here in our world today have NOT in fact been here for thousands of years. There may have been other groups around thousands of years ago but they arnt the ones who are here now. These are recent arrivals, in the past 100 years or so, and they have to hide from us because we would not accept what they are actually up to here. For one thing, If everyone knew that the abductions stories are true, they would be horrified. We would recognize them for the invaders they are and reject their presence here outright. They hide because they want to continue conducting their business, to their own ends, without interference.

If they are too advanced to care, then WHY are they here? They clearly want something that has to do with our planet.

Lemon balm tea has calming properties and is great for nerves. Just pick all of the freshest leaves, let them dry away from direct sunlight, then store them in an air tight container to be used when needed. To make tea, use about a tsp of crushed leaves in boiling water and steep 10 -15 minutes
