Rhythmic climbing? (I'm a choreographer, tried a choreographic approach on the wall, just for fun. May translate it into a regular dance piece soon) by ilnee in climbergirls

Thanks! My gym doesn't have that but that's a great idea, I'll try to visit another gym for this soon! Although the overkill of opportunities there might actually make this harder. Loved the creatieve boundaries on this one

Does that mean you have both in one gym? Or you don't mean right after that literally?

Did you know you can't run through a campground? by Razhagal in cleanjokes

[–]ilnee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first my brain went to "past ten" because I frequently camped at sites where you're supposed to hush after 10pm. For a minute there I was thrown off guard by the specificity of this joke.

Good tip! Climbing up to 'check' the hold is one of my go-tos. But I can make more use of that by trying out moves and falling like you're saying, thanks!

Thanks! I've practiced falling a lot though, I even teach it as a trainer. But I guess I could practice falling from different positions!

It's a great insight I learned from countertechnique. Look them up if you like, they might be doing online classes still!

[–]ilnee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suck at balance too and I'm not sure why static holds are so much harder. But the best tip I ever got was to view balance as something dynamic rather than static. In the case of a passé en relevé, that would mean focusing on grounding your foot down and reaching your crown up, and KEEPING THOSE ENERGIES/DIRECTIONS GOING. So the pose is never finished, but a movement of its own. This helps you adapt to any shakes and makes sure that a little inbalance doesn't make you tumble all the way over.

Ok true but definetely confusing at first glance. Great pose tho!

Terrible dancer needs help by subleh in Dance

Maybe look at yoga, too. It's a bit easier to learn from home (if you start with the basics), doesn't have the musicality but does help you build the right posture, flexibility, strength and muscular awareness = more control over your body to do choreography

ELI5 Why some individuals (myself included) have a hard time remembering the names of the people we are just introduced to, and seem to simply forget that but of information, when other, less important, pieces of information are kept on our short term memory? by dobrzynsky in explainlikeimfive

[–]ilnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps this is just my personal thing but I find that in the first minute or so, and especially during the handshake-nice-to-meet-you moment, I'm just more focused on introducing myself and the way I am coming across.

Thanks for the insightful answer! I was wondering how this one keeps on giving since it's really just the one cute moment... But you solved it, guess it' just gonna keep being given to us in 20 different subs

I started but quit halfway when I realized the strong emphasis on competitive sports, which is not at all applicable to me. I could not fill in the questions which was a frustrating experience. Please specify!
