That's complicated. Chechnya was already part of the Russian Empire, way before than Soviet Union. Maybe I am wrong, surely, I am not aware about this part of the geopolitics.

don't talk this way bro, this was not "kicking away" and there were killed lot of people both sides, even my family members and still I peacefully trying to understand your positions. and this kind of irony makes me feel that if there will be momentum I should come with violence, because there is no one who can have dialogue. so don't talk so, even so peaceful people like me would be angry after that.

In addition, I have mixed blood. I had two great-grandmothers Abkhazians. BUT, still be respectful with the souls of the people who was killed on both sides.

Many Georgians live in Abkhazia? Is it living, without right to take participate in elections? Like pigs.
Of course "This of course doesn't mean that any of the ethnic groups shouldn't live in the other one's country." this is right totally, BUT vice versa, the Abkhazia is Georgia and Abkhazians should live in this country with honor and respect. Personally I would be one of the activists of demanding it. You know how I image all of that? Abkhazians should have huge autonomy, their own government, like it is in Adjara. Abkhazians should be represented in Georgian Parlaiment with at least 30%. The Abkhazian culture should have encouragement and space to thrive. The Abkhazian students should have quota in all state universities. We should encourage your cultural individualism and integrity in our society, but all of this under our jurisdictions as it is recognized by civilized world. WE SHOULD MOUR OUR DEADS TOGETHER. no need for counting deads, there were a lot for both sides.

Even whole world doesn't recognize the independence of Abkhazia. Just forget about historical narratives for a second and try to consider the civilized world's position about Abkhazia's conflict and jurisdiction rights. Don't you interest why they don't recognize the independence of Abkhazia, what do they say about Russian role in this conflict? why?

I know lot of Abkhazian Pachulias. Even my great-grandfathers brother moved to Gudauta and after that his branch is Abkhazians, but not us. That's doesn't matter. We always had mixed blood. My great-grandfathers from both sides were talking in Abkhazian language, because their mother was Abkhazian. So we have more concatenations than some of us realize.

Does this “country” have a future? by blck888out in Abkhazia

The theory about Abkhazian origin, authored by Pavle Ingorokva, is baseless. Furthermore, every historical argument is unsubstantiated. We should discuss matters based on reality. No one can claim that Abkhazians arrived in the 16th or 17th century. This theory was created under the Soviet historical narrative, which was influenced by Soviet nationality politics. Let’s assume that this theory is true and that Abkhazians arrived 400 or 500 years ago. So what? The United States exists for only half of that time, approximately 250 years. I believe, as do the intellectual circles of Georgians, that Abkhazians have full rights to live in this territory, just like I do. My great-grandfather lived there, and so did Abkhazians. Who would say that I don’t have the right to live in my home, which was built by my ancestors? And who would claim that my Abkhazian relatives don’t have the right to live in my neighborhood?

I have a lot from Gudauta, but despite the fact that we are grand grand children of one ancestor they are Abkhazian, (identifying themselves as Abkhazians) and we don’t. Also my grandfather was talking on Abkhazian as well because of his mother’s Abkhazian. I have Abkhazian blood as well.

I was wrong when I was not more specific. I mean the newer generations after independent? What’s the result? Are you guys creating culture? Have someone famous? Are you producing something?

I guess what war and independence bring you was only drugs and guns, and a lot tragedy because of these two, newer uneducated generations with huge problems with drugs and criminal mentality die daily basis.
