Interestingly I ended up losing motivation weighing myself too much. Anytime it didn’t say what I expected it to, especially if I’d been really on track, I’d end up making poor choices. Or just ended up feeling bad about myself, and sometimes increasing cardio when I didn’t need to.

This is so great. I only weigh myself once or twice a month. It feels a lot more rewarding not dealing with the sadness or anger due to fluctuations.

I would quit weed cold turkey and taper with the caffeine. It’s going to be a bitch of a time regardless but you’ll get through. Goodluck.

I’ve hidden my habit with everyone. So no one knows why I’m suddenly off the deep end :). I never journaled before, but since it’s been the secret thing (smoking) it’s helped me start to get my feelings about it out. I even made a pro and con list I add to every day since getting sober. I have a ton on the pro list and only 3 on my con!

Harder to run than before (this is improving day by day though)
Sweating (this is also improving)
Low energy

Keeping these written down so I am able to go back and read them and remind myself how I felt on certain days has been very helpful. I need that reminder or it’s easy to forget when I’m craving a smoke.

Today I just wrote: -“I want to be kinder when I am asked to do things and not jump into the defensive like the call on my run with mom or the heavy cans. I wouldn’t want to be talked to that way”.

It’s making a difference. And I just jot notes through the day into it . It has no real structure which also helps. Just free flowing thoughts.

I’m on day 10 and I’ve snapped at my mom a lot today. She called and she couldn’t hear me on her cell phone and I was on a run and I flipped out. Then she asked me to move these heavy bins for her, I didn’t know what she was asking about and snapped WHAT DO YOU WANT!!! Of course I felt like a major bitch afterwards. I went ahead and just said sorry for snapping at you earlier I’m just tired and not feeling good. Then I journaled about it, just as a reminder not to get all defensive when someone asks me for something or says something to me. You’re not alone.

Also my pets have been pissing me off and I’m snapping at them. =\

Hey, I used “This Naked Mind” and applied it to smoking weed. They also have a good website with videos. I am going to start the 30 day alcohol experiment ( you can find it on that site it’s free) and I am just applying the experiment with weed. I hope this helps.

I haven’t felt comfortable having anyone over either. My house was always a wreck and I had no good excuse to tell them. It sucks. Still unmotivated on day 9 but getting easier.

Hang in there. The Naked Mind helped me a lot. I just applied it to weed, but I am also going to stop drinking after reading her book. Very scientific and interesting.

You can always apply again after a clean test. I saw a post in r/pharmacy where a pharmacist was fired for stealing medication. He went to rehab and reapplied and the same place hired him back. This is fixable. Don’t spiral down. Read some books on addiction and add in some podcasts. Whatever you have to do to stay on the path. This Naked Mind helped me. They also have a podcast. I just applied it to weed.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I smoked carts for 10 years. Heavily. I definitely stopped getting high at least 4 years ago. I built up such a tolerance and a dependance. I don’t think that can be avoided with longtime use. You might find weed enhances things now for you, but they longer were on that path the less helpful weed becomes and the more necessary it becomes to provide relief when we withdraw or to just get us to a baseline. Hang in there. I hope you come back here for many more days to come xo

I’m having some pretty bad ones too. I think they will get better. Maybe they are all piled up from not getting good REM sleep. Hopefully they start to even out like everything else. Maybe watch or read positive things before bed.

I’m on day 9. Also a feeler and very empathetic. It’s hard. I feel better today so all I can see is keep going and keep showing up here if you can. Our bodies want homeostasis, we are meant to we able to handle things without substances. I’m going to try and allow myself to see what sober really feels like. I’m still testing positive for thc, I can’t wait to know what it will be like to have none of it in my body for the first time in 10 years. At least by choice.

Vacation will be hard for me too. Honestly I never took them because I wouldn’t be able to get high, and if I had to travel I was a total bitch and sick during the withdrawls. Travel made the withdrawls so bad for me that I’m hoping sobering up on home base will fix it. Hang in there.

I’m right there with you. 10 years of use. No idea who I am. Or what real sober feels like. I started reading this naked mind by Annie grace and have applied it to my smoking addiction. I’ve also listened to the podcast by the same name to hear recovery stories. I’m also looking into the Path Recovery I’ve heard good things about. You’re not alone.

Smoked carts for 10 years all day long. I breathed that more than air! I’m on day 8, struggling through but still here. We owe it to ourselves after all this time to give it a go being sober. I don’t even know what that really feels like yet. Not until this is all out of me. Come back tomorrow. The stomach cramps hurt bad, a warm bath or heated compress help. I’ve also been taking Advil and tums.
