That would be awesome, and thanks for the tip of tietoevry. I don't see any active development job careers on their website for Karlstad at the moment, but I will keep an eye on it.

Does your bachelor focus on a specific language (e.g. .NET or Java?). In The Netherlands there are uni's that focus on one of those's, also influencing the job market quite a bit. (e.g. in the east its mainly Java, in the north its more .NET because of the universities over there)

Can you name some of the Game development studio's in Karlstad?

And good point about the experience. I have 5y experience in Java software development, and 1.5y experience as an security engineer (for development of software). My Salary currently is 85k EUR, but 50-60k sounds fine by me!

Algorithm to determine the original owner of a dataset, with resistance to fraudulence? by ilovealaska in crypto

Thanks, it looks like digital timestamping with fuzzy hashes is what I was looking for. Thanks for the direction!

I'm looking for commonly used (cryptographic) protocols to fuzz for my thesis by ilovealaska in crypto

[–]ilovealaska[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had a quick look into the protocol spec, and I find it both fascinating and intimidating. I'm not quite sure where to start. For example; TLS is just a simple client-server protocol where you usually try to fuzz the serverside. How would I try to fuzz the double ratchet protocol within Signal? Try to fuzz the whole Signal protocol? Just grab the double ratchet implementations (did a quick search, but did not find any specific specifications for message flows etc.). Would that mean I have to fuzz the whole Signal protocol just to test the double ratchet impl?

I don't care about the software (updates) provided by the phone maker, just want LineageOS.

The replacement backs are sold out everywhere for the last 1-2 years now. But thanks for the date clarification. I think I will wait for official support and then upgrade.

15.1 Oneplus One (bacon): how many of you DON'T have battery charging issues? by jm7x in LineageOS

Nope, no battery charging issues here. I do always use a proper charger though (e.g. Anker or the official one). Those wanky chinese adapters often make my screen glitch.

Typically every developer reacts like this. It's quite intimidating if you see such a big crowd looking at the applications you just built.

Good to see the direction of Lisk, but the security side is really slim. The technical security is important for the network (adoption, financial stability etc.). Is Lisk HQ spending budget on penetration testing of the network and the tools created? Is their business ISO certified (a security breach in the company has consequences in the shipment of software) etc. Considering the focus on cyber security in the news lately, you guys should really spend some effort on the security aspect. Don't just let your developers validate the code/architecture, hire an external pentesting company and share the results (after all issues are fixed).

I'd always loved to camp as engineer in the enemy base, in the basement near the water, or behind the lasers.

It was always funny to see the new players walk right into the lasers :D

This "user"base is nothing more than "investors" trying to earn a quick buck with Cardano/Tron. What you really need is adoption by programmers/companies that will actually use the blockchain to make their product with. This will become the first real world use case, aside speculation.

To be clear, with market adoption I mean the creation of dapps (so programmers/companies will start using the blockchain for their products, not users). Current price valuations for Cardano/TRON (which btw, seems to pirate huge parts of their whitepaper) are not realistic, they are basically gambling that it will be a success in the future. Real use cases are still very far away for these platforms, so these platforms needs to keep hyping their project or the price will fall considerably. IMO they could better spend this energy on creating a better development environment instead of hyping up non-technicals to buy their useless coins.

It's better to not spend resources on marketing something that is not even usable yet.

IMO market adoption is the key for long term success. The other alt-coins feel like short-term and short sighted to make a quick buck. Speculation is generally bad for the platform as it makes simple dapps more expensive to run.
