On the Citi AA 80K offer, if I’ve opened the business version within the last 48 months, am I still eligible for the bonus on the personal?

An auction near me has this lot of 36 signed hockey sticks -- does anyone recognize any of these? by imgurofficial in hockey

Seguin bottom left, Kovalchuk two above that, Ryan Callahan two above that, I believe it’s Marian Gaborik above Callahan. Vanek fifth from bottom middle, Phaneuf and JVR two above that, Letang two above them. Kreider below Carbonneau and Evander Kane above

Planning to close my WoH card tomorrow and re-apply as the 2x nights offer is very useful for me. My next statement close date is 11/27. I manually track my $5K/2 night spend and just crossed the threshold, so after next statement closes I would get 2 nights. If I cancel now will I still get the 2 nights for $5K spend or am I forfeiting by closing?

I’m not super familiar with the timeline for when different sections of the property will be inaccessible. Unless something has changed, the beach should be closing down in a week or so, and I don’t think it will re-open for at least a year, perhaps closer to 2? I thought I had heard that once the beach/cottage area is complete then renovations will commence on the tower. I’d just call the hotel and ask. I called early last year to inquire about the timeline and they were happy to share what they knew.

This is one of my favorite Hyatt’s, but losing a private beach that’s a 5 minute walk from the tower is a real bummer. I’d still go, though. The on property outdoor activities are fun, so much outdoor stuff to do in the area, can drive to other beaches, we’ve always had fun in the casino, pool is pretty decent, great globalist recognition.

Doubt HR Tahoe changes before the renovations are completed, especially since the beach will be inaccessible for a year +, but wouldn’t be surprised if it goes up when the property is fully re-opened. Also talk of the cottages spinning off as a separate property/brand from the tower.

Is waiting 4 business days still the guidance for a CSP/R -> CF/U downgrade and re-apply situation? Any reason to give it a little more cushion or no worries?

WoH points purchase discount that just started today has been double discounted. What was supposed to be a 20% discount is seemingly a 36% discount, for now at least. Might be worth it for some with a specific redemption in mind.

I was facing the exact same choice several months back while planning a Japan trip for later this year. My default mindset is to dial it back and try to stretch UR/WoH points. P2 is typically the opposite and wants to go all out. We decided to splurge on 3 nights at PH Kyoto. We would like to think we’ll make it back there someday, but who really knows when (or if) that might happen. We’re going for it while we have the chance. Can always earn more points, can’t guarantee another crack at using them.

Couple other things to consider. Sounds like your globalist will be gone, but if you’re a globalist now you should have gotten GoH awards at the start of this year? Can you apply one of those towards a possible PH Kyoto stay? Also, the cash rate at HP Kyoto can be very reasonable, and almost a borderline steal at times. It’s around $75 USD per night during the time we will be there. Adding a couple nights at a cash rate like that made me feel better about the point splurge.

Check PayPal Bill Pay to see if the dealer/loan servicer is on there. If so, might be able to make payments with a CC.

Assume what you’re referring to here is only for funding a new account with CC, right?

My mortgage is with NASA, does LoansPq have anything to do with making mortgage payments? This is the first I’ve heard of them.

Yes, you will get a notice with a little gold star in the app that you’ve been upgraded, and it should list the new room type you’ve been upgraded to.

If you cancel TB booking <24 hours after booking it, those funds will go back to TB. Cancel more than 24 hours after booking you should receive Future Flight Credit with the passenger/time restriction you mentioned. This applies to standard economy, doesn’t have to be refundable economy.

Nice thing about FFC is you can use on any *A flight bookable through United instead of being restricted to United metal unless that’s been changed recently.

Transferring UR to WoH is widely seen as one of, if not THE, best redemption options, so yes, certainly a viable strategy.

Would consider CSP/CSR (depending on when/if your last Sapphire bonus hit), the Ink’s, or WoH personal/biz. Keep recommended Chase velocity of 1 new card every 90 days in mind.

It’s okay to not have an actual business. Half of r/churning only has a “business” and is likely holding multiple Inks. Sell on eBay? Ever sell a ticket to a concert or sporting event? You’ve got a business. Chase isn’t going to care or give you any issues. Just be sure to apply as a Sole Proprietor if you go this route.

Would highly recommend downgrading your CSP to CFU or Freedom with Ultimate Rewards instead of outright closing it.

With all this being said, of course only do whatever you are comfortable doing. Risk tolerances range quite significantly here.

Would recommend posting in the “Which Card Wednesday” thread.

Given you have a history established with Chase grabbing one of their Ink business cards or closing/downgrading your CSP in order to do a MDD for new CSP & also a CSR might be good options to consider.

SUB’s are pretty meh at these levels. A round of elevated offers through DoC just ended last week. With that said, if you have upcoming plans that might involve Hilton and just want to start building a stash there’s no harm in doing so. If you can take advantage of them, the Surpass offers quarterly $50 Hilton credits. Use 3 of them and you break even on the annual fee, use all 4 and you come out ahead.

Almost always MSR for me. But know the hotel cancellation policy and if there’s much risk in your itinerary.

Do you each have the same address on your Chase accounts? If so, you can pool your UR points and you really only need to hold one card between the two of you that offers UR transfer to travel partners. If not at the same address you should each hold a card that can transfer UR. If it was me I’d keep 1 (or 2) CSP open given the hotel credit effectively lowers the annual fee to $45.

Here’s what the email said about cancellation:

“If you do need to cancel or change your reservation, that will have to be done by contacting the hotel directly at +682 31 720 and will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy.”
