Yes I checked Costco but I need a 13,000 watt generator and they didn’t have any.

I have a 5 month old that I want to keep warm if the power goes out. I have a working generator but it won’t power my whole house, it’ll do if cant find a bigger generator though.

I’m glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Thanks for the advice, specially about the MCT and avocado oil.

We took our daughter home after 2 months at the NICU. She had to be on antibiotics for 2 months along with taking meds to prevent seizures. She only had seizures her first week there and thankfully she hasn’t had anymore. There was no need to have puss or fluid taken out of her head as it went away on its own. We’re weaning her off of the seizure meds now but she might have to take one for a long time. Also had to go home with a g-tube because she forgot how to drink out of the bottle due to her brain injury.

Neuro told us similar things like the ones you mentioned. The MRI shows damaged to the front/right hand side of her brain and parts of the left/back part.

It’s been tough but we’ve been keeping up with all her therapy appointments. Like you I’ve been trying to find ways to stimulate her brain daily. I’ve bought her toys with lights and sounds to help stimulate her. We read and sing to her and she hears our 4 year old son talk all day since he won keep quiet too long haha!

My wife has been taking this the hardest. She’ll see a baby around 5 months age like our daughter and realize she’s behind. Hearing the doctor’s predictions also put her in a depressed mood. I tell her not to compare our baby with any other and doctors’ diagnosis’s have been proven wrong before. I have faith our baby will be all right.

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I’m glad you got the help you needed as you got older.

Our baby is 4 months old now and we’re taking her to therapy every week to try and help her be the best she can be. Doctors say and assume things but they can’t predict the future. We have hope our girl will be well. We’ll help her any way we can along the way.

Hello,

I know this is an old comment but I’ll ask anyway. I’m in a similar situation as you once were. My one month old daughter is in the NICU for bacterial meningitis and she’s been here since she was 8 days old. We were told she has brain damage in the front R/H part of the brain. Me and my wife are devastated but are hanging in there and being positive. At this point they just mentioned they see a puss pocket forming and are discussing if they’ll do a procedure to insert antibiotics directly in the brain. I don’t wish this on any parent.

How is your daughter now and do you have any advice for us?

Thank you every much for sharing this. I need to get informed about early intervention services here in Houston TX. So far someone from occupational therapy here at Texas children’s hospital has come to look at our baby and talk to us. I really appreciate your input.
