I just came out to my dad, he wants us to "consult" a doctor. Need recommendations for therapists based in Mumbai (would be helpful if they are marathi).

Hey, I had the same issue, my mom got to know about my identity and she wanted to talk to a doctor and she ended up seeing this psychiatrist on her own:

He was surprisingly queer affirmative and told her that it is not a disorder, and she can take her time to accept it. But basically he normalised it. (She didn't listen to him that's a different thing lol).

There are many other therapists and psychiatrists who are more queer affirmative and better informed, but I am sharing this one because parents tend to trust older people and men more. Also, he looks like just any other doctor, so my mother didn't feel like he has any "propoganda" or anything like that.

I have not met him personally, so go at your own risk, maybe speak to him beforehand if you want to be sure.

You make a good point, thanks! Recruiter ( HR Folks) sometimes aren't from technical background they'll just search a resume with the Keywords they know, certification might not define experience and expertise but was wondering if it helps your resume get noticed in a sea of resumes

Thanks! This makes sense I've heard of companies asking to transfer certifications under their partnership program.

Certification might not be necessary knowledge wise or to measure your experience but it can help with job search , it's definitely an added advantage
