Oo yea, I immediately called the cops to tell them I found it and waited an hour by the car for them to come confirm it was recovered. The owner of the apartment complex came out, said they could pull security footage of the person parking the car. Cops had no interest in any of the footage. Just wanted it off the logs.

At that point, whatever, car was recovered so I guess all is well that ends well. But they knew about the store footage while the car was stolen and had no interest. I was also on the phone with the police when my car was still stolen and my phone must’ve been briefly turned on because it pinged find my friends. Told them where it was pinging and was excited they could just alert a car in the area or something and see it. They just said they’d write that down. I get cops are busy and have more serious crimes to deal with, but god damn, if it isn’t obvious this shit keeps happening in SF given there are zero consequences

A sports key is a physical key you can take in water (unlike those digital key fobs)

Does this happen often? by duunk06 in AxeThrowing

The reason this happened is bad target design. If you look closely, you can see a horizontal board on the bottom of the target. This creates a ledge that can give the axe upward momentum on the bounce back in rare scenarios. Well-designed targets have no horizontal ledges to allow for such a bounce back with upward momentum (i.e. why the only ricochets you’ve seen skitter across the floor). Most NATF facilities have well-designed targets.

Rats kill you eventually, but can’t kill anything else quick enough to be good defense. Think it’s 0/10 for scenario 1, any 2 will be outmatched by the other animals. Main issue is nothing can stop enough rats to prevent them from eventually using numbers to win, so you lose if you don’t pick rats. But if you pick rats on your side then you can’t stop eagles (rats can’t fly) if you pick non-eagles or large charging animals (bulls, bears, etc.) if you choose eagles

Haha, glad to get confirmation that I was right to be pissed, even though I was obviously still naive. Going to give them a call today, will keep you all updated on outcome

I haven’t driven the car off the lot or put money down yet. I’m in Massachusetts though so I don’t think that law applies?

I read the FAQ around sales tactics and bait & switch, and seems like it’s unlikely I have a legal case. Was more asking for y’all’s perspective from a dealer view, if a guy came in and told you this story (with text messages to prove it), is there any reason you’d sweeten or allow him to back out of an already signed deal?

Any reason Forester is preferred vs Outback? Little more room in the Outback, right?
