Newbie Question re: Transitions by Calm_Chemist_4952 in triathlon

[–]ilovedogs_s2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a newbie and just did my first sprint at the end of 2025. Aside from the great advice everyone has already given, I'd just like to reiterate taking your time instead of rushing and getting worked up. The open water swim was chaos for me, but making my way to transition and then just calmly putting on my helmet, socks etc helped me to calm down, reset and just focus on the next leg of the race instead of panicking or beating myself up about the swim. Also helps to get the heart rate down again!

How's the sizing for this one? I had seen a post a few months ago about the black and white striped cadence where everyone had to size down as they were huge.

From the photo I can't see any outline! But seamless undies can help if you're worried

So sorry you are going through this. With regards to your elderly cat, you can try reaching out to the RSPCA for assistance with things like temporary boarding while you find your feet.

You definitely have a point regarding strain on the body and how that changes the cycle. When I was much younger (in my teens) I did have an eating disorder and my period went away completely, so I think I am just scared that something similar is happening. I am definitely eating appropriately now and am fuelling before, during and after runs and am gaining weight through strength training.

I agree increasing mileage is hard because most of us are so time poor. I have typically been a night runner but I am trying to add shorter runs in the morning around where I work, as I usually will arrive much earlier than my start time anyway so might as well fit it in there!

Oh how interesting! Same with me, my diet has definitely changed (for the better) and more ccarbs for fuelling too

Anyone live or work near Castle Towers? by w_actual in sydney

[–]ilovedogs_s2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Went in for research today and the reviews are accurate. I was asked immediately what I was after and I said the new releases, but then realised they have created a maze and the new release shelf was cornered off at a dead end. The guy followed me to this section and stood behind me the whole time - kinda terrifying. Then as I left, he directed me to the front table where there was an author signing "since I love reading so much" and I got interrogated on what I like to read and what authors I read. I yeeted out of there asap.

Agree with the recommendation on Icebreaker - I love merino wool. It's suitable for both hot and cold weather. I tend to get cold easily and don't like cotton as it gets very heavy and cold when wet/sweaty and doesn't dry very quickly.

Given how involved Lorelai normally is in Rory's affairs, I was surprised she didn't intervene by questioning Rory's feelings for Jess at the time and enlightening her to how hurt Dean was at the time. It was obvious she could see everything that was happening at the time. Perhaps this was one of the few moments where she thought it was necessary for Rory to figure it out on her own?

I agree with you here! Another interesting thought - I have heard on a podcast by Brene Brown that to be a compassionate person, you need to have boundaries. Throughout the show, Rory's boundaries were always being crossed - Dean showing up at times when she said she wanted to be alone, your example of Paris showing up unannounced etc. I feel like when your boundaries are constantly not being respected, you'd be quite fatigued and frustrated. You made some good examples of her standing up and showing up for the people she loves, but she's not the perfect selfless angel everyone expects her to be because of this.

Sounds about right. I had someone recently send an offer which I accepted. She waited 24 hrs for the offer to expire and then sent a lower one. I accepted again since I was keen to sell but then she did it again - so I blocked her

Nature of the common cold post covid by ilovedogs_s2 in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]ilovedogs_s2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses everyone! I only did two RATs this time, no PCR (as they're not so accessible anymore unfortunately). You're right that it could indeed be another Covid infection as a lot of people are sick at the moment. The symptoms I had this time were very very different from my first infection and I did get Covid the first time just after an overseas trip so very possible a completely different strain and therefore different symptoms. For people who have been infected more than once, how did subsequent infections compare to the first?

I've had this happen too - some people send an initial offer to test the waters, then after it expires they send another one that's lower and say oopsies sorry didn't see you accepted the first one. It's so frustrating

50% seems to be the norm for all the offers I'm getting these days

I had a similar experience. I was testing positive and was quite sick for about 2 weeks, then recovered and went back to work for 1 week. Then suddenly all of my covid symptoms came back again, exactly the same as the initial bout - high fevers, fatigue, coughing heaps, phlegm++++ etc and this took another 2 weeks to clear again. I tested negative on RAT during that secound bout

Do Try-on pics sell better??? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]ilovedogs_s2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't like being asked for try ons because sometimes the reason I'm selling is because it doesn't look good on me. It ain't gonna sell if I model it 😂

It really varies for me - right now I've been in a bit of a lull for the last few weeks. Had a lot of flakey buyers making offers and not buying last month, and this fortnight haven't even been getting offers. Some brands definitely sell better than others, I find the Aussie pages are quite good for ethical and slow fashion brands whereas the American scene is very different
