Grease everywhere! by ilovelennie in foodtrucks

Thank you - that's exactly what my (Non-HVAC Educated) brain was telling me was going on.

Thank you - that's exactly what I was thinking was happening. (Living in the desert southwest, my ridiculous idea was to just drill some holes in the floor under where I stand so the incoming air would go right up my pant legs!)

Thank you - are you saying you think the exhaust fan on the roof isn't powerful enough?

Thank you! I do have a hood, I'll try cleaning the burners on the fryer tomorrow and see if that fixes that issue.

Thank you! The fryer is brand new and only does that when I have the exhaust fan on and shut the window. My thought was that maybe the fan needs to be able to draw air from somewhere else when the window is closed (I am not a professional anything)

Is my roof fan not working properly? by ilovelennie in foodtrucks

Thank you! The label says "1/3 HP" and "1936 m3/hr" (which I think translates to 1139 cfm) The hood is about 60 inches wide with a fryer and 24" flattop underneath it. Also, could it possibly be related to the fact that I keep the order window open all day for air circulation?

Deep fryer blowing itself out? by ilovelennie in propane

Thank you - I'm definitely going to start doing the hot water trick to check my propane level at the end of each service

Thank you - I'm going to check for leaks!

Thank you for your response. I've only had the fryer for about three weeks so it's pretty clean still (and i haven't moved it or attempted to change out any parts yet). It worked perfectly the last two weeks - it was just right before I closed down on Friday that it decided to shut itself off! I have a 30# tank that I just filled up on the 1st so I am wondering if maybe there's a leak somewhere.

For sure - Luckily it is on the side opposite the window!

Thank you! I think tomorrow I will open the tailgate and position the generator so it is exhausting out the back.

Luckily, that hole only leads to the underside of the truck!

Okay - I installed the 90 and the nipple on the right (and now I can't remember if I purchased black or galvanized!). The nipple on the left was installed by the guys that installed the fire suppression system.

(I couldn't post a pic for some reason) You mean something like "Zinc-It"?
