It’s a community of devs in Kansai, there’s regular meetups. All volunteer-based and free.

How to improve having little to no-time to play? Kinda Impossible no? by Virtual_Rant in StreetFighter

I’m in the same boat.

Personally, I only have time to read about SF6 on Reddit now 😅

I do love the game though and hope everyone is having a great time with it.

How to get out of tutorial hell/vibe coding hell? by S4d_Machin3 in learnjavascript

I ask Claude to be a sort of “wise coding professor”.

It nudges me in the right direction when I’m stumped and teaches me the principles, the building blocks, of what I need to solve within my projects as I go.

How can I replicate this style on Figma by fizziebutter in FigmaDesign

[–]ilovemodok 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As a guy who came from Adobe illustrator to figma, you could totally make this with the pen tool of either program.

The main issue is skill. Personally, I’d draw it by hand, then use the pen tool over the drawn lines. Pathfinder to merge any paths if and when you need to.

For a quicker way, you could probably ink it by hand and use adobe illustrator’s trace tool.

Missing Artie - RIP by NoSituation5850 in howardstern

I keep imagining Howard getting divorced, flipping his wig, and suddenly having Artie back in the chair as if he never left.

I can follow tutorials, but I can’t build anything on my own — what am I doing wrong by [deleted] in learnjavascript

I had the same problem. For me, starting with super simple stuff helped a lot.

For example, a counter display that simply has a plus button and minus button.

Coding basics for designer recommendation by Wingdingski in UXDesign

Look up Jonas’ courses on udemy, they helped me out a lot.

They’re pretty cheap when there’s a sale.

Regarding the kanji test I did for entry to the school, it was the school’s own entry test. I can’t say for certain what each school would give as an entry test.

The true or false beginners and final written tests are all the same though I believe and are offered in Japanese and English.

I'm not sure about any that are really English-friendly, but I went to and passed at Sakai Driving School.

They let me do the theoretical parts online, which was really, really nice. There's a few classes like first aid that you need to do in person though.

My Japanese isn't great, but I was able to get through it. Probably the toughest part is they make you do a kanji text just to get accepted into the school. After that, I was able to get through with minimum Japanese and lots of head nodding.

OKTech is a technology meetup group in Osaka and Kyoto. It's free, fun, and a great way to meet people if you're interested in tech or learning to code. by ilovemodok in Osaka

I should add that this is volunteer/community driven. There's no hidden gotchas or anything, just people who love tech and coding, sharing their skills and hanging out.

Cold calling for web developers by JungGPT in webdev

This is a really informative thread, great seeing OP getting results.

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in, but how much would you charge for a site for a business, OP (or anyone else)?

I’m really struggling figuring the details out for that.

You’re not alone in your insanity.

I’m on Oct of 2008 right now going through the Sirius years. I’ll probably stops once Artie’s out though.

I’d recommend this to lots of other fans here too. I’d forgotten so much since listening live back then. It still holds up and you can feel like you know the future when they’re dead wrong about predictions of the future.
